There have been many tournaments over the span of a few months within XS, among them was the Forza Horizon tournament. This game is well known however, some members within XS may not know who plays. Thus a tournament was born. Among the many competitors was XGN Agent40d, DoD’s 1st LT of Genesis. His victory made quite a splash, and the News Team had to have front row seats of course.
We asked Mr. Agent, what inspired you to join the tournament? With all eyes on him, he answered, “I play mostly Forza so when I heard there was a tournament I just had to play. I had to see what others could do and with that to let everyone know I play too.” Now thinking about this there was another question that had to be asked, so we did. What challenges did you face while competing? Not expecting the question, XGN Agent40d paused to think about the question. “I think just being a part of a tournament was a challenge because it wasn’t all in one day, but over a span of a few weeks. Also during some of the races, I had a bit of difficulty. That’s because depending on the map you have to choose what car to use.”
Having not expected this response I thought to ask, what kind of tactics did you use to overcome these challenges? XGN Agent40d had this response, “If I started in the back during a race, I would give others a head start. The reason for this is because others would bump into each other, and it made for a messy race. But when you do this it makes it seem like you’re playing dirty, and no one likes dirty racers.”
Seeing this in the tournament made us curious about what it takes to participate. So with wide eyes we asked, how many times did you have to change your tactics during the races? Shockingly he had this to say. “I didn’t really have to change my tactics very much. It really depended on what race we did and what car you use, that’s the important part.”
After asking XGN Agent40d about his tactics we decided to ask him about his favorite car. His response was, “anyone who knows me knows its the 2002 Nissan Skyline R34. However for this competition I use the Lotus Elise GT1. It has amazing handling and [it’s] really good on the turns.”
Now we asked Mr. Agent about his tactics and his cars, along with the challenges he faced. Naturally we asked about the races themselves. We asked, what track did you have the most difficulty on? Thoughtfully the 1st LT answered, “The tracks that I had the most difficulty with I think is Goliath and HolyRood Park Circuit.”
With all his challenges and tactics laid out for us to see, we decided that everyone would like to know if you could go back and change anything would you? XGN Agent40d laughed and said very confidently, “No, because everything I did gave me a victory. However, if I had to choose just one thing it would be to not underestimate my opponents. Doing so was a mistake because there were times I had to change my car in order to secure my victory.”
Furthermore with the ending of the tournament XGN Agent40d told us that “the worst part of the competition was waiting for the next round as it was spread out over weeks. But to me the best part was being able to socialize and playfully call each other out and talking smack, all in good nature of course.”
Finally with the interview coming to a close we asked, how likely [are you] to compete again? Laughing his response was, “if it’s a racing game on a scale of 1-10, it’s a 10, especially if it’s Forza Horizon or Need For Speed.” He paused, “as long as its a racing game, it’s pretty much guaranteed that I’ll be there.”
In conclusion as a final thought we asked, are there any final thoughts or advice you’d like to leave with those who would like to compete in the future? Mr. Agent’s answer left us in awe. “Make sure if you compete that you have a well tuned car, because in the end level doesn’t really matter. It really boils down to the car you use. Also if you do race, don’t play dirty. No one likes a dirty player.”
So with that, on behalf of the XGN News Team and XS, congratulations on your victory XGN Agent40d!
