One thing I truly appreciate as a gamer is when a video game company realizes their mistakes and gets ideas from the community on how to improve. Ubisoft has done this with The Division 2 and seems to have worked really hard to giving us what we want in their second installment. The Divison had very negative reviews when it was first released and they improved on that with what they had available.
The Division 2 is set in DC where the player will fight more criminals and looters during an epidemic outbreak. The in-depth details are very light at the moment and I’m sure we will receive new details as the March 15th (2019) release date get closer. I expect it to be very similar to the first installment in regards to looting, enemies, leveling, etc. Ubisoft has stated that the game will feature cooperative raids with up to 8 players, and that you can play this entirely solo if you wish to do so. Soon after release they plan to release new dlc to keep the game fresh and exciting. Most importantly all dlc are claimed to be free.
Upon starting a new game you will have several classes to choose from depending on your play style. Some of those include Demolition, Sharpshooter, and Survivalist. All of these have special abilities, weapons, and gear to help you as you level up. I imagine the looting system will be similar as well, where you find, upgrade, craft new weapons, armor, gadgets, and upgrades.
Despite the negative reviews I personally enjoyed the time I spent on the first Division. It was a big open world that gave you the option to work together with friends or bring the pain to others in the dark zone. I’m interested to see how the new raids turn out and tackling those challenges with my friends. You can sign up for beta access on Ubisoft’s website to be one of the first to explore the outbreak in DC.
