Q: “When did you join XGN?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “I joined XGN In July 2014 into the squad and division of Deathstar, GoD – Soon to be Deathstar, DoD when it was first created.”
LEGION OF XGN
Q: “Why did you join XGN?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “Honestly, I joined for the same reason that almost everyone does. I got a message, out of the blue, playing a game and wasn’t quite sure of how to respond. The guy had offered to let me join a gaming community I’d never heard of and I just decided to give it a shot. Never thought, at the time that it would go this far but as we can see here we are.”
LEGION OF XGN
Q: “What did you think of XGN when you joined?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “I didn’t think much. It was more of a ‘What the hell, let’s give it a try’ moment than anything. At first, I didn’t truly make any friends or have the luck to be contacted. I, eventually, reached out of my own and learned that, if you want to be successful and enjoy XGN, you have to put as much in as you expect to get out.”
LEGION OF XGN
Q: “What are a few things you want people to know about you?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “I can be very blunt and to the point. I can be very expedient. I like to select a task and complete it without having to multitask too terribly; it’s a divide and conquer type mindset. At the same time, I’m patient. I like to take my time, get to know people, play games, and most of all, have fun. If I wasn’t having fun, I wouldn’t be here; simply put.”

Q: “What is the hardest part is going to be as Chief of Staff (CoS)?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “The hardest part is going to be filling the shoes of my forebear, XGN HELL5FURY 7. I’ve had some people come up to me and say that I was going to be the next Chief of Staff and I never liked to admit it, but that was where I knew I wanted to be. I don’t believe in bragging. However, I’ve gotten a lot of support from many senior leaders, the least of which being XGN Rufis 7 who has been at my side the whole way up from our first meeting when I was only a 1st Captain in Deathstar.”
LEGION OF XGN
Q: “How do you feel about your Promotion to Chief of Staff (CoS)?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “It’s pretty surreal. It’s hard to feel any way because I’m kept busy enough that I scarcely have time to think about it. I like the work and I like constantly having something to work on. This is just the next step and it’s by no means where I want to stop. I’ve been offered positions that I had questions about from going over to potentially be leader of another Division I hadn’t had much contact with to being contacted to lead a department. Those I had never been sure about. Chief of Staff? I’ve never been more certain that this is where I want to be and what I want to do.”
LEGION OF XGN
Q: “Have XGN values or traditions, morals or ethics ever had an impact on your personal life?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “Very much so. When I joined XGN, something to keep in mind was that I was still a 19 year old kid fresh out of high school and trying to learn to balance life, school, and a plethora of other things. I’ve learned to prioritize, organize, divide and conquer. I’ve learned how to deal with tentative situations, how to be diplomatic, and how to realize that every person is just that on the other side of the TV screen: a person. I’ve taken a lot of growing up to realize that XGN has become more a family than ever and more a place of learning than any I’ve encountered.”
LEGION OF XGN
Q: “What are your goals for yourself in XGN, and the community as a whole?”

XGN Jager 7
A: ““My goals for myself are always set high, but simple. I’ve always believe in the Keep It Simple Stupid (KISS) method. I hope only to further build upon the foundation the board before me has left and to continue to evolve and progress from the dark ages into a brighter, healthier future. I want to see all squads at full staff with a plethora of upcoming officers willing and ready to fill the spots left behind them as it once was. I want to see events and streams going on from every division and squad. I want to see activity like has never been witnessed in the theatre of any community across the hundreds of gaming communities out there. I want to see XGN be what it was meant to be. These are my goals for XGN, but my goals for myself are only to make them a reality.”
LEGION OF XGN
Q: “How have you, or how do you plan to better this community?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “I’ve been working on the XGN Club, the XGN Community Discord server, and on the Leadership roster to clean up any missed links and ensure that things are run properly, smoothly, and efficiently. I plan on working to rebuild and reactivate the XGN Stream team to get them active and properly streaming XGN events and other game nights along with their own events as they happen. I hope to further XGN’s media presence as well as build from within to strengthen our infrastructure; attacking these tasks from within and without.”
LEGION OF XGN
Q: “Any Advice for new leaders?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “One of the greatest pieces of advice I can offer to any upcoming leader, regardless of rank, is to have ambition. I made a workshop on the XGN Education page that’s still very close to my heart: SMART Goals; S.M.A.R.T. standing for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Time-Based. I strive to base all of my personal goals off of his program to ensure that I hold myself accountable. As leaders, you need to know what you want to see in others and what you want to see in yourself, but beyond that, you need to hold yourself accountable to making it more than just a dream on paper but making it a reality in the world around you.”
LEGION OF XGN
Q: “Did/do you have a mentor? What have you learned from them that you hope to pass down to others?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “I don’t like to say that I have a mentor simply for the fact that I’ve had dozens down the line. Mentorship, for me, has never been restricted to just those above me, either. A mentor, to me, is not just someone who takes you under their wing and shows you what it’s like from the top, but rather a mentor is someone who can teach you anything. I could learn something from a Corporal more profound than I might hear from a Senior Director or learn a new way to do an old process that none of the Board had thought of. I believe in taking advice from all forms and learning how to incorporate them in new and innovative ways. I hope only to take all that I learn and continue to pass it along to others that they may not only learn from me, but from each other.”
LEGION OF XGN
Q: “What achievements or accolades have you earned here?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “I’m very proud of what I have achieved here in XGN. I’ve worked with the News Team, at one point, and put out articles that had earned me recognition from Mr XGN himself. I’ve written several workshops currently posted in the XGN Education Department. I’ve built and split a division among a plethora of peers to earn Director, creating Brotherhood of Steel. I’ve even been fortunate enough to have been voted in as the Division Leader of the Year for 2016. But more than anything else, I’ve always been proud of the fact that, while so many have left that were once my peers, I remained and refused to allow my loyalty to be shaken and, while I do not like to sound boastful, it is of this that I am the most proud.”
LEGION OF XGN
Q: “If you could change anything about XGN, what would it be?”

XGN Jager 7
A: “It’s not a question of what would I change. If I were to list every change that I’d once wanted to make, the list would be the handbook we have now. I believe that XGN is going in the direction it needs to go, whether it, as a whole, agrees or no. I believe that there are many things to change and I believe that it doesn’t necessarily rely on what I want or need, but rather upon what the community needs to see happen to continue to succeed and grow as it has in the past. My goal is only to change XGN for the betterment of all with every encounter I am fortunate enough to have with each and every member I’ve the privilege of leading and mentoring.”
