WELCOME TO THE XILED GAMING NETWORK
XGN is making an effort to be more professional and structured. As a result, this informational guide has been made in order to better inform all members of basic XGN knowledge. As a member, this page will provide you important information about XGN as well as provide guidelines for your membership experience with us. This allows us to better promote a safe and healthy gaming environment. This guide is an explanation of the XGN policies, practices and benefits for your own personal understanding and growth.

Handbook

Founded by Mr XGN, XGN Damaged VII, XGN Sandman 7, XGN Tiesto 7, XGN Legacy 7, XGN DARK 7 and XGN Anarchy VII on July 7th 2010 the Xiled Gaming Network was born. On that day several years ago leaders set the singular goal that all gamers deserve a safe and professional gaming environment to call home no matter what their skill, race, gender or personal beliefs may be.

XGN is constantly striving to enhance the online gaming environment, without regards to skill, race, gender or personal beliefs. Our goal, over the past seven years now, has been to become a hub for all types of players. Whether they are competitive or casual, Xiled Gaming Network is a place for gamers to call home, while allowing members to express their individual talents and passions for video games.

Kaizen is a Japanese word meaning Consistent, and Never-Ending improvement. This is the XGN mantra. XGN Will be the best gaming community, and will always strive to improve.

1.) All Xiled Gaming Network members are expected to read and follow the XGN Code of Conduct, XGN Policies, Xbox Live terms of service, and must uphold the Code of Conduct at all times.

2.) Members must respect other gamers, this includes members and nonmembers. XGN does not condone violations of the (CoC) of any kind. This includes (but is not limited to), discrimination based on race, age, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, or any other personal interest, or investment. All members are entitled to a professional level of fairness. You may not be intimidated “in any way”. This is strictly enforced.

3.) Never leave a fellow XGN member behind. Do not leave a game with fellow members because you are losing or not playing well. This is considered “leaving a man behind” and includes, meetings, game nights, tournaments, and etc.

4.) Poaching is not permitted. The act of coaxing a member from another clan or community, including a fellow member of XGN, for recruitment purposes is strictly prohibited. NOTE: offerings and/or promises for membership participation is considered (Profit to stay) and is also strictly prohibited. Additionally, recruits may not be recruited into XGN within 30 days of previous membership of any gamer community, or clan including XGN.

5.) XGN members take pride in their membership, and are encouraged, (but not required) to change their gamertag/name to reflect XGN. It is ONLY a requirement to place XGN in your gamertag in order rank up past Master Sergeant, and it must always be in caps. If you delete your profile or bio this is the same as quitting. If this occurs, you have 24 hours to replace this in order to come back as if nothing happened. If after 24 hours you want to come back to XGN, you must start over as a new member.

6.) Your Xbox Live profile settings, including MOTTO, NAME, LOCATION, and BIO, must be visible at all times so other members of XGN can authenticate you as an actual member. All members must know the security question(s), and their answers within 30 days of joining XGN.

7.)  The minimum age requirement to join XGN is 12 years of age. (Adult Squads being 15+ years of age and Junior Squads being 12+ years of age.).

8.) All XGN members are entitled to the “OPEN DOOR POLICY”. The “Open Door Policy” in its essence, is an opportunity to go to a higher-ranking member with a problem which can’t be resolved within their immediate chain of command. Members are expected to follow the chain of command, and report to leadership directly above their rank at all times. The Open Door Policy is not an invitation to join staff meetings, nor an invitation to join, or be in a party of higher ranking members without permission. For example; While a Senior Director may “decide” to be in a party with Corporals, any problems said Corporals may have on a squad level, must first go up his chain of command. Additionally if while in a party, if said Corporal brings up any problems within his/her squad with Division staff or above, they should be asked to leave the party and report to their General.

9.) All XGN leaders are expected to display proper conduct, leadership skills, and a high level of professionalism at all times. No rank above Master Sergeant may be attained without passing XGN’s test for the rank. Accepting a leadership position is a choice, and more importantly a privilege, with the understanding that you may be asked to step down at any time. If you cannot handle the responsibility of the job, rank, or title, please don’t accept the position.

10.) All XGN members must represent XGN in a positive and respectful manner regardless of whether they are playing games, using the Xbox Party Chat/Personal Chat system, or in any other online/offline environment. This includes but is not limited to, Hacking or “illegal console modding” of any kind.

11.) XGN members are not permitted to be a part of any other clan, community clubs, or gaming organization while in XGN. A gamer with another Clan tag in his/her gamer tag/name cannot be recruited into XGN without removal of it first. Nobody may be recruited with a gamerscore of under 1000.

12.) If you are invited to a party or contacted by a higher-ranking member, you need to respond in a timely manner, as the subject matter may be urgent. If you are asked to leave a party by a senior member, you must do so immediately.

13.) Any member who knowingly damages or destroys, whether unintentional or not, any material or nonmaterial assets belonging to XGN, offender(s) may be prosecuted civilly or criminally to the fullest extent of the law. This may be including reimbursement of any or all fees legal or otherwise.

14.) Members should attend a minimum of 2 meetings, and 2 squad game night/workshops/sit-ins, or activity night per month. Doing this will keep the community active. If the member cannot attend, please inform your squad leaders. All members of XGN must remain active on the the XGN website, with a minimum of 10 post per month. Officers may request more participation, but members are not “required” to do more than their rank calls for.

15.) All illegal activities are strictly prohibited.

DISCLAIMER: THE MANAGEMENT OF XGN HAS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR ANY VIOLATIONS OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT. IN ADDITION, THE LEADERSHIP OF XGN IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF XGN MEMBERS.

Exception Clause: The President of XGN may make any unified decision with the Board of Directors to make exceptions and changes to these terms at any time.

• Respect and growth is essential in our Community. NOTE: Punishments are subject to change at the Forum Administration’s discretion. Every situation is different, and may or may not call for different discipline than what is stated above. Below are written terms to help clarify certain categories.Spamming: The act of posting several times in a row without having anybody post after you, you will be warned/suspended. Posting several things over and over again throughout your Squad, Division, or any other section of the forums that is non XGN related. If it’s important information regarding XGN related topics then it is not “spam”.Flaming: The act of disrespecting an individual person, the Community as a whole or threatening a Squad/Division is the act of flaming and will be banned on site with no warning whatsoever.Dead Topics: Topics/threads that are considered “dead” means they are 2-3 weeks old and have less than 10 replies and/or the last reply on a topic was 2-3 weeks ago. The Moderation Team will then go through and move them to our Staff Trash Can and/or Div or Squad Archives. This is done on a weekly basis so if your posts are being “deleted” they aren’t, they are simply being moved so the forums are kept clean as possible.

  Ranking Up in XGN

All officer positions are voluntary. No one within the community gets paid for their work, so we prefer to offer them a high level of respect as officers for what they do to keep the community running. There are five primary ways in which members can rank up within XGN.

  1. Recruiting--We’re always looking for new, quality members willing to play and help better the community.

  1. Posting on the Forums- Our forums are one of our primary communication tools within XGN. As a result, we prefer members to utilize the tools we’ve given and it is necessary that all members, regardless of rank, stay active on the XGN forums.

  1. Attending Meetings– These are the primary way we communicate new information such as policy changes, staff updates, and upcoming events within XGN. As a result, to truly immerse oneself within the community, one should attempt to make as many of these meetings as possible. These are typically hosted by either the General, Colonel, Major, or First Captain.

  1. Attending Workshops / Game nights and “sit-in’s” The primary educational tool within XGN, workshops are informative meetings that focus on a single aspect of the community or squad that a officer in a squad or General has chosen to focus on. If something is being taught to a group of members via one of these, it is considered a workshop. Officers should be present to regulate these and only Lieutenants and above are allowed to host them. Attending Game Nights which are mostly just fun meetings where members get together to simply play, as a group, the game of their choosing. An officer does need to be present, however, they can be hosted by any member regardless of rank.

  1. Name change- This is done by putting “XGN” in their gamer tags. For example, if a Sergeant, changing their gamer tag to reflect XGN earns them an immediate single rank promotion upon contacting their General. All Game gamer tag changes should be reported to the squad officers to keep the CMS and squad tag well-regulated and up to date. Keep in mind, however, and notify new members that changing their gamer tag is not a requirement to join XGN. It is only a requirement if they wish to be the rank of Lieutenant or above to better represent their squad and community.

Code of Conduct, Policies, and Mission Statement

The full Code of Conduct and policies for XGN can be found at our main page, xgn.gg.

  • XGN Bi-Laws One of our biggest rules that all members should take to heart is 1) Respect ALL Members and Non-Members.2) Leave no man behind

  • The Mission Statement XGN is constantly striving to enhance the online gaming environment, without regards to skill, race, gender or personal beliefs. Our goal, over the past six years now, has been to become a hub for all types of players. Whether they are competitive or casual, Xiled Gaming Network is a place for gamers to call home, while allowing members to express their individual talents and passions for video games. It can also be located at xgn.gg.

Blacklist –  The Blacklist includes members and communities (or clans) that have been proven to be a threat to our family and have, as a result, been Blacklisted. This means that we, as members in order to protect our members of XGN, are forbidden from having any sort of communication or contact with these members or clans to protect our community.

Parties and Status- So that leadership can properly and efficiently contact you as a member, we ask that all members keep their parties open so that they can join if needed. Parties should only be locked down when discussing XGN business or a Senior Director or higher is in the party and requests the party to be placed on Invite Only. We also ask that you do NOT kick/remove members from parties. If you should have an issue with another member or non-member, please leave the party and start another. If the situation persists, you may be permitted to lock your party. A member should always keep their status set to online.NOTE: Due to open foreign / domestic relations with other groups and individuals leadership of XGN must often keep Party Chats closed in order to protect the members of XGN within them.

Joining the Forums- If the member is joining as a PVT, they need not go through these steps. However, if they would like to join as a Corporal, please follow the following steps.

  • Go to forums.xgn.gg
  • Choose Sign Up
  • Fill in the application to the site.
        1. The Display Name should match the member’s gamer tag 100% and can be updated if their gamer tag changes.
        2. For Rank, they should choose Corporal
        3. For Squad, they should input the name of the Squad they are joining.
        4. For the Division, they should input the name of the Division they are joining.
        5. Once done, select Create my Account. It may send a confirmation email in which case, you may need to check the email linked to your forums account and go through the instructions there to activate your account.

Community Tag/Community Club/Squad Tag/Discord-  Have the member follow the XGN Community tag as well as the squad tag and invite them to the Xiled Gaming Network Club (this is required) and Community Discord server. Make sure you message your General and let them know the members’ gamer tag exactly and that they’ve joined so they may be added to the CMS and Tag after attending their first squad meeting.

  • The following is now added to the recruitment process. When a new member joins XGN, before they are officially recruited, they must Follow the following Gamertag: XGN Community – This is an addition to them Following their Squad Tag and Joining the XGN Xbox Club as well as the XGN community Discord as well as their division Discords. This will make more sense in a future CMS Update which will enhance Community-wide Security.

Welcome the member to XGN- Lastly,( IMPORTANT- DO NOT) simply drop the member there. Play a few games with them and introduce them to some of their new squad mates so they do not feel abandoned. This goes far into increasing the chances our members will stay.

  • Taking and posting meeting notes once a week
  • Reading the CoC aloud at meetings
  • Recruiting and training 5 members per week
  • A member on Re Education Suspension cannot attend game nights, workshops, tournaments, or squad activities while on RES.
  • RES members will be placed in the “Timeout” server on Discord.

Should the member fail to comply with the terms of the RES, they will be subject to the Membership Revoke policy.

Membership Revoked

A membership revoke is used when a member(s) has severely (or continuously) broken the CoC, such to the extent that they must be removed from the community immediately. However, since the member (or members) in question may not represent an immediate or severe threat to the community, Blacklisting will not be warranted. The removal of a member from the community for breaking the Code of Conduct (CoC) in such a severe fashion that the senior leadership has deemed them entirely unfit for the community. Once a member has had their membership revoked, they may apply through the XGN Court System for a membership appeal after thirty (30) days.

Blacklisting is an action reserved for the most severe, and egregious of behaviors/threats against the XGN community (in part, whole, or digitally), or any of its individual members or collectively.

Blacklisting may only be implemented by an Owner(s), CCO,  CoS, and or the CPO as recommended by the Senior Director(s). Members are strictly prohibited from any contact, real or otherwise, with any Blacklisted individuals, communities, groups, or clans. Including on a members’ “friends” list. • Poaching
  • Harassment (including sexual)
  • Threats of violence (credible)
  • Information Technology Sabotage
  • Stalking
  • Felonious Activity

DIVISION SPLIT POLICY

For a Division split to occur, the division must have the following:

  • Must be flagship for at least one week, there are exceptions.
  • A minimum of 600 members.
  • A full complement of Division staff.
  • A minimum of 8 squads. (including a Junior Squad)
  • At least 90% of the division must be verified to be in the XGN Club.
  • The existing Division Leader must compile and submit a complete list, or roster, of which staff will transfer to the new division.
  • The division must know what squads will stay in the division and which ones will go to the new division.

Once these requirements are met, the Division Leader will then await approval by the Division’s Director and the Chief of Community Operations (C.C.O.). The C.C.O. will then appoint a Senior Director and provide full access to the Divisions’ tags/CMS to audit and verify the division’s membership. Upon completion of the audit and verification, the existing Division will be deemed “Flagship” and a new Division Tag will be created and assigned. As a result, the split may commence immediately.

  • The Division Leader, (of the existing Division) may be promoted to Director (space providing), the Co-Division Leader may then be promoted to Division Leader (of the existing Division) or may choose to transfer to the new Division as Division Leader, whereas the Founder would then be promoted to Division Leader of the existing Division.
  • Should the Division Leader of the existing division not be promoted to Director, the Co-Division Leader would then take over the new Division as its Division Leader and the Founder to Co-Division Leader.

Discord Participation Policy

All members of Xiled Gaming Network will be required to have access, in some part, to the Discord App for the sake of proper communication within and without the Division. This is accessible through any smart phone, PC, laptop, or even via Microsoft Edge (on the XBox One) or other browsers (if only to the extent of viewing).

Any member of XGN wishing to have or create their own server.
– Has to get permission from their Division Leader, the Divleader will notify their Director which will then take the request to the CCM (XGN Rizzi 7)
– The CCM will create the requested server and setup the security permissions. following that, they will continue to monitor the server for the safety of it members

EQUAL GAMING OPPORTUNITY POLICY

An important part of XGN is to provide equal gaming opportunities to all gamers. Discrimination against anyone, including but not limited to: game (play/skill), race, age, gender bias, sexual orientation, gender orientation, religious affiliation, national origin, disability, political affiliation, XGN gamer tag, any other personal interest, or investment is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. XGN strives to provide a community environment which is fair and equal to all its members.

FLAGSHIP

When a division gets to 500 members, a division leader can start working towards splitting his/her division. To split a division, they must receive flagship first, by asking a director.

The director will approach the C.C.O and ask if that specific division may split. They will both then evaluate all the officers within that division. If all is approved, the director must go down and start the flagship process, making sure all squads have all officers in place, and all CMS and tags are the same. They will then go through each tag and make sure all bios and uniforms of all squad members are correct otherwise they will be removed.

If the division falls under 450 members, they will lose their flagship status and have to reapply. The Division will have one week to get any removed members corrected and back on CMS, or their numbers back to 500 to receive flagship once again.

It is mandatory that:

  • At least 90% of the division must be verified to be in the XGN Club
  • Every uniform must be the same by XGN standards
  • All staff positions must be filled before splitting
  • Flagship must be obtained before splitting
  • There are some exceptions at XGN Sr Leadership’s discretion!

To receive flagship, a division must have a full division staff. All squads must have full staff, and all members’ bios, mottos, and uniforms must be correct.

GAMING VIOLENCE POLICY

XGN believes in maintaining a safe and healthy gaming experience in part by promoting an open, friendly, and supportive gaming environment for all its members. Violence and/or threats of violence have no place in our community. Violence and/or threats are never an effective solution to any problem. Members are expected to immediately report any violation(s) of this policy to their superior officer(s). Any member found threatening another member, will be subject to disciplinary action, up to, and including Rank Suspension, Membership Revocation, and/or Blacklisting from XGN!

HARASSMENT/ INTIMIDATION POLICY

XGN will not tolerate harassment or intimidation of our members in any situation. Harassment is governed by state laws, which vary from state to state, but is usually defined as a course of conduct which annoys, threatens, intimidates, alarms, or puts a person in fear of their safety. Harassment is unwanted, unwelcome, and uninvited behavior that demeans, threatens, or offends the individual. Intimidation includes, but is not limited to, knowingly putting another person (or persons) in fear of harm to one’s physical, mental, emotional, or personal loss. Additionally, intimidating an XGN member such that it holds their membership, rank, or title hostage in lieu of inappropriate or non governed performance is STRICTLY PROHIBITED. Example: threatening or intimidation for more than the minimum rank or membership requirements is strictly prohibited. Violations to this policy may result in severe disciplinary action(s), including but not limited to, Blacklisting of your membership. Additionally, you may even face criminal prosecution to the fullest extent of the law, should the situation provide for it.

  • Any member in violation of this policy must submit a “Membership Reinstate” appeal in the XGN Court system section in the XGN forums. Anyone who fails to do so and is found in a Division/Squad will be automatically membership revoked!

IMPERSONATION POLICY

XGN strictly prohibits any member to impersonate or misrepresent themselves in any way. This includes, but is not limited to, impersonation or misrepresentation of your uniform, your rank, department affiliation, activity completions (including testing/training), and/or military status for purpose of manipulation or abuse rules, policies, or special consideration(s) not deserved to you. XGN conveys huge respect for all those who sacrifice themselves in defense of their countries. Impersonation of a military affiliation is prohibited, and those caught violating this policy may face severe disciplinary action(s), including but not limited to, permanent revocation of your membership.

No member above the age of 15 is to be in a Jr squad unless they are the GEN of said Jr squad or an “acting’ GEN.  (NO EXCEPTIONS)

LEAVE OF ABSENCE POLICY

(L.O.A.) There are three (3) types of “L.O.A.”; Long-Term L.O.A., Short-Term L.O.A., and Military L.O.A.
Short-Term L.O.A.: A member may request a “Short-Term” leave of absence from their XGN membership, at any time without denial. The member may receive an L.O.A., and will then be subsequently relieved of any and all responsibilities during their requested absence period. If the member is an officer, an equal (or superior) officer will be assigned to cover their responsibilities while on L.O.A. The period which qualifies as Short-Term L.O.A., is: 1 to 15 days. Upon returning from “Short-Term” L.O.A. within the allotted timeframe, the member is restored to active status and returned to their previous position before on L.O.A.

Should the member not return to their “squad” in that time frame, the member will automatically be upgraded to “Long-Term L.O.A.” status for the duration of the “Long-term” time limit (75 days more). The member will then be removed from their Squad and Division tag to allow for XGN related progress to occur. The member’s position may then be made available for another member to be promoted into. Upon returning late, the TRANSFER POLICY will apply.

Long-term L.O.A.:
A member may receive a “Long-term” leave of absence from their XGN membership at any time. The member will then be subsequently relieved of any and all responsibilities during their absence. The period for which qualifies as “Long-term” L.O.A., is: 1 to 90 days. A member on “Long-term” L.O.A. must be removed from their Squad and Division tag. Should the member not return to their “post” in that time frame, the member will automatically be removed from the CMS and subject to the ACTIVITY / INACTIVITY POLICY.

Military L.O.A.: A member may receive a “Military” leave of absence from their XGN membership at any time. The member will be subsequently relieved of any and all responsibilities during their absence. Military L.O.A. is: 1 to 365 days. Should the member not return to their “squad” in that time-frame, the member will automatically be removed from XGN, and subject to the REJOINING POLICY. This is necessary due to the continual growth and evolution of XGN’s Membership and Policies, which after 365 days (or more) absent from, will have changed substantially. Any member found to have falsified their military status, or utilizing “Stolen Valor” for the purposes of a Military L.O.A., may be subject to disciplinary action(s), including but not limited to, Blacklisting of your membership.

Procedure for LOA:

  • Member must notify a superior officer for L.O.A. status.
  • Member must remove rank and replace with the initials “L.O.A.” in their location.
  • Member must place the dates of their L.O.A. interval in their Bio.
  • Example:” LOA 7/7/2010 to 7/7/2011”
  • Must friend/follow “XGN LoA TAG” until they return.
  • Must send message to “XGN LoA Tag” with your intended dates of departure and return.
  • Example: “LOA 7/7/2010 to 7/27/2010”
  • Must be removed from the squad tag and CMS.
  • Upon returning, the member UN-FOLLOWS the XGN LoA Tag, removes LOA (and dates) from their Bio, and must then report to their superior officer for active duty assignments, and/or CMS and Tag updating.
  • Any member not following the XGN LoA Tag is to be considered NOT ON LOA, and subject to full membership policies. LOA provides for needed time away for personal reasons. Should a member be found to be actively playing on their console (game progression), they may be considered “returned from LOA” and subject to active duty policies. L.O.A. is a consideration to its membership, which XGN recognizes for needed time away from their consoles (for personal or real life demands), NOT XGN, or your responsibilities to your rank. If a member is found to be using the LOA process to shelter themselves from their responsibilities (shirking), they may face disciplinary action(s), including but not limited to, Membership Revoked.
  • If a member is on Leave of Absence (LOA) they will be unaware they have Blacklisted Groups or Players on their list and will NOT be Blacklisted and will have 24 hours to Remove & Block once they return to their Console, Discord and other Platforms.

 Level 5 Blacklisted Policy

As of December 22nd 2017 the Xiled Gaming Network will abide by the following protocol when dealing with groups and players Level 5 Blacklisted.

  • Any member found with a level 5 Blacklisted Clan or Player on their Friends list can/will be Blacklisted by Senior Leadership NO Questions asked.
  • If a current member of XGN has a friend that has joined a Level 5 Blacklisted group they will be issued a 24 hour warning to Block Communications and Cut ALL contact with the now Blacklisted Member.
  • If a member is on Leave of Absence (LOA) they will be unaware they have Blacklisted Groups or Players on their list and will NOT be Blacklisted and will have 24 hours to Remove & Block once they return to their Console, Discord and other Platforms.
  • Any member identified as “adding” or “contacting” ANY Blacklisted Group or Player after they have been blacklisted will face the same or similar protocol.
  • Senior Leadership reserves the right to handle all Blacklist[s] how they feel fit as a team.

NOTE: Just because this policy is based on LEVEL 5 Top Security Threats does NOT mean that all other Blacklists are less dangerous or are to not be removed, blocked or avoided. This is simply to create knowledge XGN has ZERO TOLERANCE for any LEVEL 5 BLACKLISTED offenders inorder to protect our community.

REMINDER: // Members of the Xiled Gaming Network must Remove, Block and Avoid ALL Blacklisted Groups and Players regardless of the level.

Member Reinstate Policy

Any member who decides to leave the community for more than 24 hours and decides to leave on their own accord (on good terms) must go through the XGN Court system for membership reinstatement.

Any member found to be a “repeat” offender of this policy could be subject to possible demotion, Squad or Division level DNH and or be automatically re-directed to the court system to appeal.

At that point their case will be reviewed by the court judges and a ruling will be final. All court judges have the right to place special circumstances on a member return I.e returning rank or members being placed on rank lock, or under a “One Strike”. At any point in this process the Head Court Judge may at any point add or remove any stipulations in regards to said members return. The CCO, CoS, and the CPO have the right to determine what rank is suitable for members to return at in which case this ruling will be final.

*Do not contact the judges prior, during, or after your case. If you contact any judges about your ruling, or even before it, you will have to wait 30 days to re-apply again!

OPEN DOOR POLICY

In XGN we want to ensure that members of all ranks are given a path to speak to leadership. This includes, but is not limited to, topics about harassment, discrimination, and general clan questions or concerns. It is preferred that you use the Chain of Command and speak directly to the leaders placed over you. However, if after talking to your leadership you feel the need for additional discussion, you are welcomed to talk with your higher leadership by sending a private message to any or all members of the Board of Directors in the human resources section of the forums “Open Door” topic. The open door policy is not an invitation to circumvent the Chain of Command. You, as a member of XGN, must always take responsibility that circumventing the Chain of Command may result in disciplinary action. The relationship between you and your leaders will be one of the most important relationships you will have in XGN.

RELATIONSHIP POLICY SUBJECT OF: “CONFLICT OF INTEREST”

XGN is a family oriented community. Being a community, we understand that people will pair up. If two members do pair up, XGN asks they please take responsibility and follow the rules outlined, this goes for marriages or “real-life” relationships of any sort. Taking responsibility for your relationship will be asked if your relationship gets in the way of your XGN duties, the duties of others, the running of the squad or division, or the wellbeing of any member in XGN. Disciplinary action can be up to, but not limited to, a Membership Revoke. This does qualify for real-life relationships if both parties are both in XGN. This policy does not permit any member over the age of 18 to be in any form of relationship with a member under the age of 18. Violation of this subject of the policy will result in an immediate Membership Revoke of both parties, and possible Blacklisting. XGN does not allow personal “real life” relationships within the same Squad/Division due to the potential perception of a conflict of interest.
This is to prevent the idea of favoritism “or non-favoritism”.

  • If they are both below a Master Sergeant rank, they may remain in the same squad, providing it is not disruptive to the squad.
  • If one member is above a Master Sergeant rank, the other must be transferred out of the squad. If they are both above a Master Sergeant rank, the lower ranking officer is to be transferred to another squad.
  • If one member is in the division staff and one is in the squad, then the two members will be separated by division.
  • If two members are in a relationship, past or present, the one member with the lower rank must be transferred to another squad or division.
  • An officer cannot be over someone whom he/she is in a relationship with, past or present. If you are an officer in a squad which contains another member in which you are having a relationship, that member must transfer out of that squad.
  • A division officer cannot be over someone whom he/she is in a relationship with, past or present. If you are an officer in division staff which contains another member in which you are having a relationship with, that member must transfer out of that division.
  • Adults XGN members, over the age of 18, may not have, pursue, or engage in, a unlawful personal ‘pseudosexual” relationship with another member under the age of 18 while in Xiled Gaming Network.
  • Directors, Senior Directors, and Board of Directors are not allowed to have a personal ‘pseudo-sexual” relationship(s) with any member in the XGN community, unless the Chief of Operations approves. Familial relationships, may be permitted providing that there is no oversight relationship in their rank. Example: Not in the same Division, Department, or any position of influence over the other.
  • Members who are in a personal ‘pseudo-sexual” relationship whom are in XGN, cannot be involved in each other’s promotions or disciplinary actions.

Relationships relating to this policy include; Boyfriend, Girlfriend, Husband, Wife, Father, Mother, Son, and Daughter. All familial and/or LGBT relationships apply. This also includes any other alternative relationship(s) not stated here. The President of XGN, the CCO,CoS,and the CPO have the right to review each situation, and may overrule this policy if deemed necessary. This policy is subject to be modified by senior leadership as a whole on a case to case basis.

RANKING POLICY

No rank is EVER guaranteed. Even if a Squad (or Division) splits, no rank (or title) is guaranteed. Members may not hold a rank (or title) without first successfully completing the XGN test and/or training for that position. Acting ranks (ie: “Acting General”), are to be secured by a superior rank, not a subordinate. For this example, a CoFo would be asked to act as Squad General until such time a General could be promoted from the ranks, or transferred into the Squad from another existing one. Again, successful completion of the appropriate XGN test/training must occur first. Squad level promotions may ONLY be affected by the Squads’ General (or Acting General), unless the situation requires a Colonel to be promoted to General, which will then be administered by the Founder of that Squad. Should there be a need to fill a Division Staff position, the Division Leader is responsible to promote a qualified member to that position. If the vacancy is the Division Leader position, the responsibility falls on the Director to submit a qualified member to the Board of Directors for voting. Additionally, anyone seeking a Division Leader or Co-Division Leader position, must first submit an application to XGN for approval. All ranks above Co-Division Leader are voted in by the Board of Directors.

To obtain the ranks of COL/GEN specific LDP slide-shows and testing is “MANDATORY”. Failure to do so will result in an “AUTOMATIC” demotion as well as possible disciplinary actions to any and all division staff members involved in said promotions!

REAL LIFE POLICY

Real life comes first, but not to the detriment of XGN. XGN recognizes that members have a real life outside of XGN, and members are expected to handle their personal life first. However, the responsibilities you voluntarily accepted are still expected to be upheld. If you cannot do your job, then do not accept, or please surrender the responsibility. All jobs within XGN will require a certain amount of sacrifice of your time away from your gaming and/or personal life. Complaints of inadequate game time, or personal time, or threats of quitting will qualify for an immediate demotion of rank, and/or may be interpreted as your resignation from XGN, and handled accordingly.

REJOINING POLICY

After being Membership Revoked or Blacklisted, log onto the forums, unless you were banned from the forums for your offense, and navigate to the Court System area thread. If necessary, you may ask someone whose membership is still in a good standing status with XGN, to go to the forums and do it for you. Go to the Court area access, and fill out the appeal form correctly. Wait patiently for all judges and witnesses to post. Answer any and all questions directed to you. Accept the subsequent decision as final.

*Do not contact the judges prior, during, or after your case. If you contact any judges about your ruling, or even before it, you will have to wait 30 days to re-apply again!

Rule of Three Policy:

Members are restricted from participating in more than 3 departments at any given time. This is to ensure they are able to commit fully to those departments rather than only give a little to several.

SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY:

(S)exual (H) arassment (A) ccepted (R)eponse (P)revention   S.H.A.R.P.

Any suggestions made to any member that sexual favors will affect any term or condition of membership with XGN will not be tolerated. It is the policy of XGN that any harassment, including acts which create a hostile gaming environment, or any other discriminatory act(s) directed against our members, will result in swift and severe discipline, up to and including, blacklisting. XGN will not tolerate any such harassment of our members by anyone. For purposes of this policy, sexual harassment is defined as; Any type of sexually oriented conduct, whether intentional or not, which is unwelcome, and has the purpose,or effect, of creating a gaming environment which is hostile, offensive, or coercive. The following are examples of conduct that, depending upon the circumstances, may constitute sexual harassment. Sexual harassment may include anything from calling a person a derogatory name to making advances of a sexual nature. Other forms of Sexual Harassment include;

  • Verbal abuse of a sexual nature, sexually degrading, or vulgar words to describe an individual.
  • The display of sexually suggestive objects, pictures, posters or cartoons.
  • Unwelcome comments about an individual’s body.
  • Asking questions about a person’s sexual preferences, sexual jokes, language, nicknames, advances, or propositions.
  • Written or oral conduct.
  • If sexual harassment accusation has been made, both members will be R.S for the duration the investigation.

Members must bring any violation of this policy to the immediate attention of their leaders so they can take it up to a Senior Director. This policy is one of the three exceptions to breaking the Chain of Command.

SLANDER/ DEFAMATION/ LIBEL OF CHARACTER POLICY

Slander is the oral communication of false statements that are harmful to a person’s reputation. Defamation, is the communication of a false statement, or claim, which harms the reputation of an individual person or group. Libel is defined as defamation by written or printed words, pictures, or in any form other than by spoken words or gestures. If the statements are proven to be true, it is a complete defense to a charge of slander. Oral opinions that don’t contain statements of fact don’t constitute slander. Slander is an act of communication that causes someone to be shamed, ridiculed, held in contempt, and lowered in the estimation of the community.
The basic elements of a claim of slander include;

  • A defamatory statement;
  • Published to third parties;
  • In whereas the speaker or publisher knew, or should have known that statement(s) was false;

SOCIAL MEDIA POLICIES

XGN is a gaming community not a social media community. We handle official business on the console. However, we do support the gamer app Discord for all chats outside of the console/forums as well as other social media platforms including but not excluding kik, Facebook, Twitter, Discord etc. All members will still be subjected to follow all XGN policies and code of conduct on any account linked with the XGN brand. (for example any private account on any social media is private any account with XGN or link to XGN in the name or day-to-day activity is considered your XGN account) Any chat  that holds more than 10 members with XGN accounts will be considered an unofficial XGN chat and shut down immediately as we have provided sanction Discord chats for every member. Any breach of this policy will have consequences.

SQUAD SPLIT POLICY

In order for a squad split to occur, the squad must have the following: A minimum of 80 members, a General, a Colonel, a Major, 4 Captains, and 4 Lieutenants. When a squad is ready to split, the General may request the Division Leader’s permission to split. If approved, the Division Leader will assign a Founder to go through the squad tag/CMS to audit, and verify the list for accuracy, and assess the online and active status of the squad membership. Once the split is approved by the Division Leader, all uniforms of the transferred squad members must be correctly updated. The following scenarios are leadership allocation examples:

  • The General of the existing squad, may be promoted to Co-Founder, space providing. the Colonel may then be promoted to General of the existing squad, or may choose to transfer to the new squad as General, in which the Major would then be promoted to General of the existing squad.
  • If General of the existing squad remains, and does not rank up to Co-Founder, the Colonel would then take over the new squad. The Major would then be promoted to Colonel, and has the choice to either stay in the old squad, or move to the new squad.
  • The squad may split as described, into a preexisting failing squad.
  • Squads may not split outside their respective Division.

  • The General of the squad splitting must compile and submit a complete list of which members and staff will transfer to the new squad for Division staff to approve.

SQUAD PROMOTING POLICY

A member may not be promoted past the rank of Master Sergeant, without a gamer tag name change to include “XGN”, which must be in CAPS. A member may not hold the rank of Master Sergeant or higher, until they have taken the XGN Master Sergeant test, and have been properly, and fully, trained with the current XGN information, and must have been in the community at their current rank for at least two weeks. Additionally, they must have met the minimum requirement(s) for that ranks’ promotion in order to qualify for it. Furthermore, a member may not be promoted to any rank above Staff Sergeant, without first being fully trained in the specific policies and training which may be necessary for that particular rank. If any requirement(s), for their rank is discovered to be “not met”, the member will be demoted until such time that they are. The leader(s) who promoted said member without completing said requirements, will also be subject to rank suspension and/or demotion. Only the General of the Squad may promote. All officers must have taken and passed the XGN test to be promoted. A member can not be appointed, or promoted to a rank without passing that ranks test.

SECURITY RISK POLICY

If at any time the Division Leader suspects, or has credible information that supports a credible threat that a Squad,Division, or Website is going to become a victim of a breach of security by another clan, community or individual(s) from outside, or from within XGN, the Division Leader may elect to lock down the Squad and Division tags. Additionally, the Division Leader may send out a, “Please Watch Out for”, alert to the Squad and Division to notify the membership of the potential pending risk.

This will make more sense in a future CMS Update which will enhance Community-wide Security.

TRANSFERRING POLICY

All members have the right to ask for a Squad, or Division transfer. All transfers must be requested by the member wishing to transfer, in person, via direct message or verbally. The proper way to request a transfer is to either have a message forwarded up the chain of command to the Division Leader, or the member may go directly to the Division Leader and place their request verbally. Transfers are typically approved and completed without issue. However, The Division Leader, or General, of the sought after Division/Squad transfer (new Division/Squad) may deny the transfer. The member will then select another potential Division/Squad for transfer, or may choose to rescind their request (staying in their current Division/Squad). The member will then be invited into a party with their existing Division Leader, or their proxy, accompanied by the Division Leader of their new Division and the transfer will commence. The current Division Leader, or General, may require the member to provide up to one(1) recruit before the transfer may be effected. Simple break down steps to a Squad/Division transfer: Notify your General (or Division Leader) of your request, verbally or in writing. Your General (or Division Leader) will aid you in pursuing the transfer by contacting the leader of the desired Squad/Division.

The Division Leader will notify the Division Leader of the requested transfer and discuss the specifics surrounding the request. The ONLY information which may be conveyed, is the member’s CURRENT status. No other information may be divulged/conveyed about the member limitation (but not limited to) the members character, history, conduct, attitude, professionalism, or any lack there of. This means the Division Leader cannot bad mouth or put down the member that is looking for the transfer. The privacy of the member must be preserved and protected at all times. XGN members are allowed (3) transfers only. Anymore will result in an automatic membership revoke.

“ALL” Division Leaders are responsible for filling out the Division Transfer form. Failure to do will result in a “invalid” transfer!

WORKSHOPS

XGN LDP LeaderShip WorkShop

By: XGN HELL5FURY 7,and XGN BluDream420

Here in XGN we like to produce quality leaders for our divisions and squads. In order for everything to run like a well oiled machine. In this workshop we will be going over how to pick quality leaders, some important leadership qualities and how to develop leadership.

And tips for being a good leader in XGN.

How to pick quality leaders

There are 5 qualities you need to look for when you are searching for the next leaders of your squads. It will be one of your duties to make your Division Leaders and Squad Leaders aware of who these members are.

1: Shows empathy for others- Meaning they can connect with people and be understanding of other people’s real life and other issues and is able to sympathize and talk to others about said subjects and be comfortable doing so.

2: A good listener- Meaning they have the ability to listen, learn and absorb everything you teach them so they can apply it to their Squads and Divisions for improvement.

3:  Shows Cosistentiency & Accountability- Meaning they show that you can rely on them for just about everything and they show you that when you need something done they get it done no excuses.

4: Interested in the life of a leader-Meaning they are consistently hitting you up and asking questions and observing you as a leader. And it takes individuals to work together on accomplishing goals and striving to be the best they can be. In order for any of that to take place you MUST have those that are willing to put the extra time and effort in to get things done. Thus it’s important that they understand the ranks are voluntary and will require more than just the average member contributes to the community.

5: Committed to learning and growth- Meaning they show you that they are patient and are willing to wait the long haul and is always asking questions for improvement.

Please note Quality #4.. Its very important!

Also make sure your leaders have good experience at their respective position and is good at their respective position and has the time and dedication to perform the next.

Also make sure you look for people that always work together with other to get things done. Because it takes individuals to work together on accomplishing goals and striving to be the best they can be to be truly successful.

Also make sure you look for leaders that show good initiative meaning they go to you asking you what needs to be done not you telling them what needs to be done.

And again you must have those that are willing to put the extra time and effort to get things done. Thus it’s important that they understand the ranks are voluntary and will require more than just the average member contributes to the community. It is also important that you sit down with the people you pick as leader and evaluate if they really have the extra time it requires to be an officer in XGN.

Some Important Leadership Qualities

One of the hardest decisions you will be faced with is choosing who should be in these leadership positions. It’s not just about how long someone has been in the community but rather the attributes they acquire.

Loyalty– Meaning loyalty to XGN as a hole.

Activity– Meaning their activity their ability to be online and their willingness to not play games and do some Squad or Div work in order to improve XGN.

Decision Making Skills– Meaning they always get all the possible information to make the best decision available. And that includes how calm they are in order to make the best decision.

Patience– Meaning they are patient and understands that sometimes thing will grow slow and growing slow also means things can be more efficient.

Tough Minded– Meaning they understand that things are going to get tough and slow and have the mental strength to stay positive and work as hard as they can through the tough times.

And never be afraid to ask your surrounding leaders for help. Nobody will be mad at you if you do they will be happy you asked for help instead of sitting back and letting the problem develop into something irreversible.

Using this will help you focus on some of the attributes to improve yourself and help you pick leaders.

How To Develop Leadership

One way to develop leadership is running workshops like this in order to spread knowledge and information. Also hitting up other members and sometimes getting their opinions on situations and problems well help develop leadership.

A very important thing is also Play With Your Privates meaning always hitting up and playing with other members in your squad and hitting up all the new members so it gets people involved and everyone active.Be sure to always ask your General or higher ups for all the GamerTags of all the new recruits to insure you meet them all.

Also as a leader you should always utilize the tools you have to be successful so make you are always on the LDP section on the forums so you can utilize the tools that are given to you. And use these tools to develop the next leaders for XGN. Here is a link to that section on the forums. http://forums.xgn.gg/index.php?/forum/1031-leadership-development-program/

Tips For Being A Leader In XGN

There is a term that you might or will hear as a leader in XGN “Fast Tracking” this term means moving people through the ranks faster than what the requirements are. You should NEVER do this because those time requirements are there for people to learn the high rank and get the experience for the next. If someone is not a good Lieutenant then they are not going to be a good captain.

As a leader in XGN you will have to learn how to delegate work to your surrounding leaders for several reasons

  • Work gets done faster and more efficient- If there are several people doing a task it gets done a lot faster because there is more people working on it. And more efficient because the task will be a lot smaller people won’t get tired off what they’re doing meaning it will get done better.
  • It Stops exhaustion- Meaning if you send all the work to one person eventually they will get irritated and,or over work and will just burn out. That’s why you should delegate work to keep people fresh and happy.

One of the most important things as a leader is always being positive, and enthusiastic because when you are it brings a very good attitude around which leads to people doing their duties more happy and quicker. Besides who wants to be around depressing and negative people?

Most importantly always remember this is a gaming community. Don’t be overbearing on others and don’t force work and a position on someone on them if they’re not up to it. And remember not everyone wants to take on a leadership position some people just want to game and as a leader you need to be accepting of that.

And always as a leader remember to NEVER throw orders at people or demand them to do stuff and always try to meet with people and give them their task and explain why said task needs to be done.

And always remember be Humble meaning never think you are to good to learn something new. Try to base your knowledge of leadership in XGN on our Mantra

“Kaizen” which means Consistent, and Never-Ending Improvement.

Be sure to always remember: Happy members = Loyal members,Active community = Happy Community.

XGN LDP Identifying Security Risks

By: XGN StilleJager

  • Start out by asking everyone attending what they believe would be considered a security risk.
  • Explain in depth what a security risk is to the community:
    • A security risk is anyone or anything that could potentially be at a greater risk to cause harm to the community or its members via any method, whether it be infiltration, poaching, hacking, or more.
  • The question then remains: How does one identify and properly handle security risks?
  • The Recruiting Process
    • As we all know, one of our most essential duties as members is to go out and recruit more into the fold. However, this is an open gateway that, unregulated, could very easily harm us if the wrong people are allowed in.
      • We keep our friend’s lists on ‘Friend Only’ due to the fact that security risks that seek to harm us cannot look there to find the names of other members that they could potentially harass.
      • If we let these members onto the tags, this is another friends’ list that contains all the members in any said squad or division. This is an open gateway for them to cause harm.
    • How do we identify threats before they’re allowed into the community?
      • Gamertag, Name, Location, Bio
        • If a recruit clearly has another community in their profile, whether it be in their gamertag, name, location, bio, or elsewhere, they can clearly be marked as belonging to another community.
          • Keep in mind Code of Conduct Article 11: “XGN members are not permitted to be a part of any other clan, community, or gaming organization while in XGN.”
        • If a member used to be in another clan, they must wait a minimum of a month or thirty (30) days to join XGN. This is in order to maintain relationships with other communities to the extent that they do not feel we are poaching their members into our community.
          • Keep in mind that if members have another clan’s name in their gamertag, location, bio, etc. at the time of recruiting, even if they state that they’ve been out of the clan longer than a month, they must remove that information and then wait the month/30 days as we cannot verify their leaving otherwise.
      • Friends’ List
        • One of the first lines of defense is taking a quick account of what gamertags are on a potential member’s friends’ list.
        • Security and Background Checks
          • Lieutenants are required to do a background check on all new members coming into a squad within 48 hours of their joining.
            • They are also required to do security checks on members already in the community on a regular basis.
          • Even if Lieutenants are required to do so, it’s always advised that the trainer and/or the recruiter give their friends’ list a quick preliminary check to ensure it isn’t filled with other security risks such as blacklisted clans or members.
            • Remember, if a recruit has their friends’ list filled with any blacklisted communities, they are potentially a security risk and should not be trained in.
            • If they have only a couple blacklisted members, you should inform them of the blacklist and that they would be required to remove them per our policies in XGN. If they refuse, do not continue the recruitment or training process.
          • Likewise, if a member has less than twenty (20) friends, this could indicate a new gamertag that could possibly be a member of another community in disguise.
      • Gamerscore and Activity Feed
        • If a member has less than one thousand (1,000) Gamerscore, they are a potential security risk. This shows us that the potential recruit’s gamertag is a new account.
        • A common process for communities seeking to infiltrate is ‘Ghosting’ or creating a new account to mask their true identity. Since Gold Membership is transferred to any accounts on the same console on Xbox One, it’s become easier for those utilizing this method to infiltrate the community. However, this is very easy to identify.
        • Another clear indicator of a new account is an empty Activity Feed or information there that could lead to their being considered a security risk.
          • An Activity Feed tracks achievements, status updates, and friends added recently. If it is empty, this shows us that they’ve not been active or are a new gamertag.
          • Likewise, any gamertag changes are recorded here. If one of these changes shows that they have simply changed their gamertag from a blacklisted community or member’s gamertag, do not continue the recruitment/training process.
      • Trainer’s Discretion
        • Likewise, if everything seems right, but there is still cause for concern for the member’s viability as a risk-free recruit, at no time are trainers required to train in a member that they have legitimate concerns about.
          • This could be a recruit that is hesitant or refuses to answer questions regarding their history in other communities or those that have blocked friends’ lists that refuse to unblock so that we can do a background check.
          • If for any viable reason a trainer sees a reason to consider the recruit ‘shady’ or a possible security risk, they are not required to train said individual into the community and, indeed, should not if they have any cause to believe that the recruit could be a risk to the community.
  • Security Checks
    • Lieutenants are expected to regularly go through a certain number of members’ friends’ lists within their squad on a regular basis.
      • These checks cover the same things a background check does, however, the key difference is that background checks are done for new recruits joining the community and security checks are done afterwards as a follow-up.
    • During these checks, Lieutenants go over every members’ friends’ lists to check for blacklisted clans or gamertags as well as check their location, name, gamertag, bio, and other profile information. This is also a check-up to ensure that the training of each member was done properly in regards to proper uniform and service record information.
      • ‘Red Flags’ for security checks include, but are not limited to:
        • Uniform issues (e.g. Spelling or format)
        • Blacklisted members or clans on friends lists
        • Incorrect service record information (e.g. Recruited by, Trained by)
        • Incorrect privacy settings (e.g. Friends’ list should be set to Friends only. If it’s locked for everyone or open to everyone, this setting would be wrong)
      • Though not all of these flags indicate a member being a security risk, they should nonetheless be reported to the General to be corrected and/or handled
    • If any discrepancies are found that might lead to a member being considered a ‘Security Risk’, such as having Blacklisted members or clans friended, it should be reported immediately to the General.
  • Disciplinary Actions
    • There are times throughout members’ time in XGN that they may be disciplined for incorrect or unprofessional behavior. There are several forms of disciplinary action available to leaders within XGN:
      • Rank Suspension
        • Non-Working and Working
      • DNH (Do Not Hire)
        • Squad and Division Level
      • Membership Revoke
      • Blacklist
    • As leaders within XGN, it’s important that we recognize that, while these are all ‘learning experiences’, when disciplinary action is required, in the case of high-level squad staff (Colonel and General) and Division Staff with access to edit squad CMS (Div Leader), before any action is taken, steps must be taken to ensure that they do not develop into a security risk:
      • Before any disciplinary action is enacted, leaders should ensure that they remove any CMS access and change the password to any squad tags said member may have access to.
        • Doing so reduces the risk that said member will remove members from the CMS or squad tag and force other members to re-add the information or replace them into the CMS.
      • Though in your mind, regardless of what you may think of the character of any said individual that is being disciplined, it’s important to realize that any leader with access to the CMS or squad tag can become a security risk very quickly given the right circumstances. As leaders, it’s our responsibility to ensure that the community, above all else, is safe and secure, regardless of personal opinion or bias.
  • Other Security Risks
    • Poaching
      • When some members choose to leave the community or are removed, occasionally they elect to ask members to leave with them.
        • The act of coaxing a member into another community, division, or squad, is considered Poaching to XGN and violates our Code of Conduct.
      • If members are receiving messages or direct contact with any said individual asking them to leave, they should report said information immediately to their Chain of Command and cease contact with the individual.
        • If this act continues to be an issue, the General may ask or advise that members block comms and remove said individual from their friends list. The Division Leader may also make the same request to the division that they are over. However, it must be made clear, that the individual, until officially stated over the Leaders’ Tag or by Senior Leaders, is not Blacklisted until further notice.
    • Hacking / Host Booting
      • Occasionally members will run into situations where other Xbox Users will attempt to hack or host boot their account via any method, including, but not limited to, DDoSing or Host Booting.
        • If a member runs into said issue where another player pulls them into a party or states over any communications that they have said member’s IP and/or they are intending to hack, host boot, or otherwise harm said member through any electronic means, said member is to report this information immediately up their Chain of Command.
    • Suicidal Members
      • Should a member encounter any situation in which they are notified that another member is intending to commit suicide; said individual threatening to take suicidal action is immediately considered a Security Risk.
      • If you should run into this situation as a member, cease contact and attempt to distance yourself as much as possible.
        • Do not attempt to console or mediate said situation. We, as members of XGN, are not certified to deal with such issues and failure to comply could result in legal action taken against XGN if the worst were to happen.
        • At no time are XGN members to take action to solve these issues. They are to report the situation up immediately to the highest ranking member available, however, two officers in particular should always be apprised of any of these situations:
          • The General of the suicidal member’s squad.
          • The Division Leader of the suicidal member’s division.
        • This is one of the three reasons to skip chain of command:
          • Division Transfer – Go directly to the Division Leader
          • Sexual Harassment – Go directly to Senior Leaders (Director & Sr. Director)
          • Suicidal Threats/Actions – Go directly to Senior Leaders (Director & Sr. Director)
  • Conclusion
    • In conclusion, there are many different types of Security Risks in XGN and, though proper education and communication, each can be dealt with in its own way:
      • Any situation in which a security risk is present or thought to be present should be reported immediately up the chain of command save in the three special cases that require a jump of the Chain of Command.
      • Members should always be vigilant and check not only their own friends lists, but are advised to check those of their friends’ to ensure that the security of our squads and divisions remain intact.
      • All leaders in XGN are expected to exude the proper leadership skills and education required of their rank in dealing with any of these situations.
      • XGN is to be a professional and safe community where gamers are free to express their passions for gaming.

XGN LDP Evaluating Recruit Quality
By: XGN StilleJager

  • Recruiting is one of the most vital duties of any rank within XGN from Private to General and beyond.
    • Through this process, the community continues to rotate members into the family to replace losses and continue to grow.
    • Progress cannot be made without a continuous flow of members into the group.
  • When recruiting, however, one must always keep in mind that we are interested in quality recruits that will not only join, but stay and enjoy the community at large.
    • Remember, XGN always searches for quality over quantity. However, don’t let this discourage; while we would like members to be quality examples of what XGN should be, the leadership of XGN does not put anyone on a metaphorical ‘pedestal’.
  • There are a few ways, however, you can check to see if a player is a good potential recruit for the community and they will be outlined here.
    • Gaming Habits
    • Language
    • Attitude
    • Eligibility
  • Gaming Habits
    • It’s very important that members within the community show themselves to be good examples of XGN so that we continue to improve our image in the gaming community at large.
    • In the past, we had a few bad examples tarnish our name, however, we’re gradually turning this around.
    • Good gaming habits can improve our image, regardless of console. Good gaming habits include, but are not limited to:
      • Being courteous to other players, regardless of skill level.
      • Showing a willingness to help and play with others.
      • Keeping ‘rage quitting’ to a minimum.
      • Remaining calm and simply having fun rather than growing upset at the game.
  • Language
    • Every member has likely, at least once or twice, found a player that chooses to use undesirable language to voice their opinion or to attempt to inflame and insult others.
    • While most members of the community are of the age or ‘easy going’ enough to shrug much of this off, keep in mind that what may not offend one person, could very well another.
    • A good recruit will show that they are able to be professional and use the correct language allowed in polite company.
      • This does not, however, mean that members cannot curse or use profanity. Keep in mind that what is acceptable between friends is, to a certain extent, a grey area. As long as everyone is having fun and what is said is kept from offending other members of the community, it is acceptable.
      • However, keep in mind that, when you meet new members inside the community, they may not feel the same way toward cursing or other forms of language as you or your friends do. Be aware that you should get to know someone before you start dropping bombs left and right.
    • A good recruit will know this balance and be willing to refrain from using foul language in the company of those who have an aversion to it.
  • Attitude
    • Closely related and often intertwined with language and gaming habits is a player’s attitude; this influences exactly how they will react to given situations.
    • While many members are similar and have much in common, it’s important to realize that, at their core, every member will have a different attitude they take.
    • Example:
      • While some members may die in a game, laugh, and continue to the next round or respawn, others will respond with foul language and anger.
    • A good recruit will show an attitude of positivity and willingness to play rather than to take the game so seriously that they upset themselves.
      • While this is not common in all recruits that come in, we’re looking to create a drama free atmosphere of positivity for the members that we have in XGN and it starts with members that show these qualities from the moment they’re recruited onward.
  • Eligibility
    • There are many ‘strange cases’ that have come up throughout many squads within the community. One of the final things to consider about a recruit is their eligibility; i.e. is the recruit eligible to join?
    • There are a few ‘minimum requirements’ that recruits must make:
      • Recruits joining an XGN adult squad should be 15 years of age or older and have a mic.
      • Recruits joining an XGN junior squad should be 13-14 years of age and have a mic.
      • Recruits should have a minimum of 25 friends of their own.
      • Recruits should have a minimum of 1,000 gamerscore.
    • Keep in mind, however, that these are minimums. XGN wishes to have members that excel and that are not just keeping themselves at the minimum in any respect.
    • A few of the things to consider when a member joins are as follows:
      • Will the recruit enjoy their time here?
      • Is this a place where I believe they can flourish?
      • Will they have the time to contribute to the family?
      • Do they have the communication means available to be a part of the community?
    • If any of these answers are dubious at best, it might be a smart idea to seek a second opinion or choose to refrain from recruiting them into the community. We want members to join because they can truly immerse themselves and enjoy their time here.
  • There are many different things to consider when recruiting a member into XGN, however, one thing that we always want to emphasize is that members should enjoy themselves and genuinely have fun.
  • This is a gaming community comprised of members from all walks of life. By no means do we hold ourselves to an unreachable standard, however, we do expect our members and officers to show a high level of professionalism at all times and represent the community in a positive manner.
  • By keeping this in mind, you, as a member, can actively recruit quality and long-lasting members into the community.

XGN LDP Understanding Boundaries
By: XGN StilleJager

  • As officers in XGN, professionalism in all things is not only demanded but required. However, what is professionalism?
    • Professionalism is the ability to successfully handle and manage situations in a manner which is clean, dignified, and politically accurate. It’s the ability to successfully maneuver otherwise tricky situations.
    • You’ll often be placed in such situations as an officer, so we’re going to go over a few things involving boundaries – those set by others and ‘where the line is’ so to speak in topics such as Language, Gender, and Religion to name a few.
    • Though many individuals in the community may feel comfortable discussing otherwise sensitive subjects, keep in mind that no matter how you discuss it, you must remain respectful and professional at all times.
      • When in doubt, look to the words of the French Philosopher, Voltaire:
        • “I may not agree with what you say, but I will fight to the death for your right to say it.”
  • Tolerance
    • The first thing that you must understand when learning to respect others’ boundaries is tolerance. Per the Mission Statement, XGN caters to ALL gamers regardless of race, age, gender, sexual orientation, or any other belief or inclination. This is to say that we are tolerant of all regardless of their beliefs.
    • Regardless of what your opinion may be, you must learn to respect the opinions of others even if they seem outlandish, crude, or otherwise oppose your own.
      • This does not, however, mean as an officer you must agree with anyone’s ideas. It means, however, that you must learn to respect others’ beliefs while understanding that others will respect your own. It’s protected by the Code of Conduct (limited, of course, by the obvious illegal situations in Article 15).
    • In addition to learning the general boundaries, these sometimes vary from person to person. As you get to know one another, you’ll soon find that what is acceptable to some is not acceptable to others. Certain variables including how well someone knows you to how comfortable they are discussing any known issue determines what they choose to accept.
      • Though some situations may offend others, if no one is offended and, in general, has little issue (and it does not break Code of Conduct), there is certain leeway that can be given.
  • Language
    • Throughout their gaming experience, there is little doubt that individuals will come across their fair share of indecent or inappropriate language. This includes, but is not limited to, cursing and slurs of any kind (racial, gender, sexual, etc.)
    • It’s important, when first meeting any individual inside or outside of XGN, to meet them with the utmost respect and civility. As a result, cursing is generally undesirable.
      • As members of XGN, all members within it represent XGN. If an individual does not accept cursing and they see a single individual dropping them left and right, then they are going to get a bad image of XGN as profane.
      • Image is very important to us in XGN. We’re always interested in keeping our reputation high and making sure that members represent themselves appropriately.
    • Around certain friends, different uses of language are acceptable. If the individual is well known and they accept such uses of language, then what happens between friends stays there provided no one is offended or upset in any way during the conversation. However, members are cautioned not to push things too far and to remain somewhat reserved.
      • This is very much a judgement call. Know what is and isn’t too much for the crowd in which you find yourself. To a certain extent, you won’t know how individuals will respond to everything you say, so be careful what leaves your mouth before you say it.
  • Gender and Sexual Orientation
    • Regardless of gender, XGN has served thousands of members that have come and gone. However, one needs to understand how to respect gender lines.
    • This section ties in very closely with language and knowing what is and isn’t acceptable around certain individuals. What might be acceptable around friends mightn’t around someone you’ve just met and we’re here to ensure that all members are comfortable; not just your friends or yourself.
    • Gender and sexual orientation are typically sensitive subjects, can often be somewhat labyrinthine, and are generally best avoided unless you know the individual (for certain) is interested in discussing.
      • Make sure to respect, however, any individual regardless of how they choose to identify.
      • Though we all have beliefs on what is right or wrong, keep in mind that what you are used to may not be what you’ll find in all corners of XGN. XGN is a diverse community and is home to a myriad of beliefs. If someone chooses to identify or orient themselves in a way in which offends you, do the right thing and choose to remain silent rather than say anything hurtful.
      • Accept others for who and what they choose to be. It is their choice alone. No one has the right to bash the beliefs of any others.
      • Likewise, refrain from asking questions or making any statements that may in any way seem or feel disrespectful or that might make the individual you’re conversing with feel uncomfortable. If you have any doubt, then don’t speak.
  • Age
    • Age is a subject more comfortable to some than it is to others. Though XGN is vastly an adult community, there are certain exceptions.
    • Junior Squads
      • If members are age 12-14, they are eligible to join XGN Junior Squads. Members age 15 and above should join Adult Squads.
      • Though Adult Squad members are not permitted to be a part of Junior Squads (unless they are to be Colonel and/or General of the Junior Squad), they are still able to play with Junior Members.
      • Around Junior Squads, however, certain rules are in effect.
        • Though these rules vary from division to division and junior squad to junior squad, generally language rules are stricter and more in effect. This includes swearing, sexual references, and other forms of illicit language.
    • These boundaries do not, however, only apply to the younger spectrum. There are adults who are less comfortable with certain communications than others. Keep in mind that you should always understand where boundaries lie. If an individual does not wish to discuss an issue or does not appreciate the types of things being said in a party, accept this and either leave the party, create your own, or respect their wishes.
  • Religion and Political Beliefs
    • Religion is the idealism or belief set individuals choose to follow in regards to existence or the beliefs in any number of deities. As with other situations, XGN caters to all beliefs.
    • Religion is a tricky situation no matter where you choose to look. Simply by listening to the news or reading it in the papers, you might quickly find examples of the turmoil caused by religious disagreements.
    • Certain beliefs will, doubtlessly, contradict one another when discussing religion. However, as with any situation, we must keep the Mission Statement and Code of Conduct close at heart.
    • Likewise, in the United States and beyond, political beliefs can be a similarly tricky subject because both scenarios revolve around our individualistic idealisms that vary from person to person even though we might agree in part or in whole on many issues.
      • If you choose to discuss your religious or political beliefs, make sure that it is with those that are comfortable hearing it. There will be those that are not. If they say that they do not wish to discuss it, respect their wishes. If they choose to disagree, accept their opinion for what it is.
      • Understand going into any such discussion that you might encounter beliefs which are alien to your own or those which you are uncomfortable with. At any time, you may ask others to cease discussing said beliefs or back out of the party. However, if you choose to discuss them, understand that they may do the same.
  • XGN has historically been a very tolerant community. Though we have had our differences, through learning how to deal with them and how to respect one another for our differences and beliefs, we can become stronger as a unified team of many backgrounds and ideals.
    • If you learn to respect where the boundaries lie, you’ll open yourself to a whole other world of discussions that may very well change your way of thinking about an ideal or a way of light or enlighten you to something you hadn’t thought of before.
    • Keep an open mind and an open heart to all members that choose to join us. We’re all family in One XGN.

Proper Disciplinary Procedure
By: XGN StilleJager

  • There are times within an Officer’s XGN career that they may be called upon to deal with situations that require disciplinary actions to be taken. However, whenever this occurs, there is much to consider before making a move.
    • Everything from which action is most warranted to how to approach said member must be considered and many of these questions have no simple or concrete answer.
    • This workshop is geared to educate officers on proper disciplinary procedure from which action to take to how to approach members when enacting any of the aforementioned procedures.
  • Deciding Upon Action
    • When a member accrues an infraction via whatever means used (messaging, parties, etc.), and it is brought to the attention of squad, division, or senior officers, it’s very important that the leader in charge of the situation contemplates all avenues of action before making a decision.
    • As leaders, we must always keep in mind that our decisions to have impacts across squads, divisions, and in members’ home lives. XGN is designed to build up members and to support a safe, family structure for members as well as to encourage fun and activity.
    • The rule generally applies that when an infraction occurs, we would prefer to reeducate and retrain than punish. As leaders, attempt to take the word ‘punishment’ out of your vocabulary. Though steps often need to be taken to ensure that the community remains safe, secure, and fun for its members, we need to encourage training over punitive means.
      • While members generally get a 3-Strike Policy in XGN, keep in mind that there are situations in which one action can consume all three of the strikes allotted. Examples include, but are not limited to, sexual harassment and threats of suicide.
      • Generally if the situation is a member’s first infraction, more leniency can be offered. Again, push re education over punishment. If it is a situation that the member can learn from, make sure that they do and ensure that they’ve learned the lesson to not continue any of the actions which caused the infraction.
      • If this is a continuing issue with the member and you’ve attempted to reeducate or retrain them on multiple issues, it might be the time to push something more serious. In such a case, to re educate the member again may do more harm than good. If it’s been made clear that they’re not to do something and they continue to do so, it’s time to choose more serious action and start taking the 3-Strike Policy into account.
    • Whenever you choose upon acting upon any infraction a member might accrue, keep in mind that you should always have a witness (or “Battle Buddy”) to the situation so that you have a third party aware that can back you up in the chance that the issue turns into a “He-Said She-Said” situation or the member chooses to feign ignorance of the action taken.
  • Courses of Action
    • Re education
      • This is generally reserved for first offenses or smaller infractions which can be learned from. This should always be the first choice in most situations, however, keep in mind that members are placed on a 3-Strike Policy. If the situation continues, do not hesitate to push further action.
      • Reeducation / Retraining consists of talking with the member, going over what they did wrong, and teaching them the correct way of handling the situation. It should always be done with a witness of similar rank to the individual doing the reeducation (e.g. if you’re a Division Leader, pull in another member of Div Staff to help you out or a Director if none are present).
    • Rank Suspension
      • A rank suspension is the most minor punitive policy that XGN, as a community, can enact. However, it is, nonetheless, not to be taken lightly. A rank suspension is not a break or ‘vacation’ from the individual’s duties as a member. It is a period of time during which the member is expected to perform certain duties as a result of their actions.
      • A rank suspension is a period during which the individual suspended holds no rank in the community at all. They are unable to perform the duties of their rank beyond what the rank suspension entails.
        • Members who are rank suspended are, however, required to perform certain duties as a result of the suspension.
          • They are to take and post notes of every meeting to the forums (based upon rank, of course. Squad ranks take notes of squad meetings, division staff takes notes of div meetings, etc.)
          • During meetings, rank suspended members are also required to read the Code of Conduct aloud.
          • They are expected to bring in one recruit per every day that they are rank suspended to a maximum of 5 recruits per week (i.e. If a member is rank suspended 2 weeks, it’d be 10 recruits required. If they’re rank suspended 3 days, 3 recruits would be required).
            • If the member fails to accrue the required recruits in the time that they are rank suspended, the period they are rank suspended will be extended.
          • The member, however, may not attend any squad activities (beyond the meetings required) such as, but not limited to, workshops and game nights.
          • If the member continues to accrue rank suspensions, they have additional actions that may be taken:
            • Upon the 3rd rank suspension, a member will be automatically demoted.
            • Upon the 6th rank suspension, a member will be automatically membership revoked.
    • Demotion
      • In the case of repeat offenders or those situations which do not warrant a DNH, but are more serious than a rank suspension, demotion is always an option.
      • Though mostly self-explanatory, demotion is when a member is asked to step down however many ranks to a position where the leader doing the demotion feels that they will most readily be able to perform
      • When demoting, please make sure, again, that there is a witness of rank. Keep in mind, though, that only ranking officers two ranks above the demotee’s rank can enact a demotion upon them (e.g. A General cannot demoted a Colonel. They would need a Co-Founder to do so).
    • DNH (Do Not Hire)
      • DNH’s are reserved for more serious infractions or situations in which the individual has been warned / reeducated multiple times and is a ‘repeat offender’ so to speak.
      • When a member is DNH’d, they are, in essence, still a member of the community, but are no longer a member of the squad or division to which they belong depending on which type of DNH is involved. As a result, there are two types of DNH:
        • Squad Level
          • A squad level DNH is for when an individual has caused issues within their squad. The General has the right to DNH said members from their squad providing they notify the Co-Founder overseeing their squad of the situation and the DNH.
          • From here the Co-Founder will work with the DNH’d member to place them into a new squad; an involuntary squad transfer in a way.
          • This means that, they are no longer a member of the squad that they have been DNH’d from and must find a new squad to call home; however, they are allowed to stay within the same division if they so choose.
        • Division Level
          • In the same sense that individuals might cause issues within their squad, if the situation continues or has proven to be a divisional issue, the Division Leader has the right to DNH the member from their division.
          • This removes the member from the squad and division that they are a part of and means that they are not welcome into any of the other squads within the division they are DNH’d from.
          • This also means that the individual DNH’d has a maximum of 2 days or 48 hours to find another division that will take them as a member. If the DNH’d member is having issues finding a division that will accept them, they may ask division staff to help them contact other divisions. If they should fail to find another division that will accept them, they are no longer a member of XGN and must wait 30 days to reapply to join via the XGN Court System if they would like to rejoin the community.
          • In Emergency situations where the Division Leader is not present, the Co-Division Leader is able to DNH. However, it is always strongly advised that the Co-Division Leader gets a “Battle Buddy” or informs their senior leaders (generally their Director) of the situation.
          • Additionally, a member is allowed a maximum of 2 DNH’s in their XGN career. Upon receiving a 3rd DNH, they are automatically Membership Revoked.
    • Membership Revoke
      • A membership revoke is reserved for situations in which the individual has broken the rules, policies, or C.O.C. in a manner which greatly offends the Code of Conduct or policies or in certain special cases where one must be automatically enacted.
        • These situations include:
          • Threats of Suicide
          • Sexual Harassment
          • The 6th Rank Suspension of a member
          • The 3rd DNH of a member
      • In the case of a membership revoke, the individual is no longer a member of XGN as a whole. The individual membership revoked, however, has a right to appeal to rejoin XGN after a period of 30 days via the XGN court system. However, they are able to still continue to play and communicate with XGN members provided they do not further offend the community or act in ways which will accrue a Blacklist.
      • A membership revoke can be enacted by a Director or higher, but should always be done in the presence of two such Senior Leaders to ensure that the individual has a “Battle Buddy”.
    • Blacklist
      • A Blacklist is the most serious punishment a member can accrue. Generally blacklisted members are blacklisted due to serious breaches of the C.O.C. or the policies or due to a member being considered as affiliating with other blacklisted members in which case they are blacklisted as a security risk. This is reserved for the worst infractions and can be enacted by one of the ‘Big Five’ listed below:
        • Mr XGN
        • XGN TOTAL CHAOS
        • XGN Bloodsinger
        • XGN HELL5FURY 7
        • XGN Big G
      • Though the final judgement is left upon one of these 5, a Director or Senior Director can bring up the proof of the situation and request a Blacklist be enacted.
      • A blacklisted member cannot play, be in parties with, or otherwise communicate with any XGN members. They are to be removed from the friends lists of all XGN members and to not be contacted in any way, form, or fashion. Likewise, they are to be avoided due to the nature of their offense.
      • A Blacklisted member does have the right to appeal to be Un-Blacklisted and/or rejoin. The period they must wait, however, depends upon the threat level placed upon them. Blacklistings have a rating of 1-5, 5 being the highest and 1 the lowest.
        • If a blacklisted member or clan is rated 1-3, they must wait 3 months to appeal their blacklist.
        • If a blacklisted member or clan is rated 4-5, they must wait 6 months to appeal their blacklist.
    • Disciplinary Procedure
      • When enacting any of the above measures, ensure that you know your facts as a leader.
        • This involves getting the individual sides of all members and/or individuals involved in the altercation. Do a thorough and objective investigation to ensure an unbiased and proper decision.
        • This also means understanding that, if you have personal ties to said member, you might need to step aside to avoid a conflict of interest and involve other leaders. Regardless of what the decision is, you must ensure that your judgement is impartial and unbiased as a leader. Remember, professionalism first.
          • Nonetheless, this does not mean that leniency cannot be shown in certain cases, but keep in mind that any ruling must be based upon facts primarily.
      • Also, keep in mind to respect everyone, regardless of rank or affiliation. When enacting any disciplinary procedure, it should be done in private involving only the individual involved, the leader enacting the measure, and an impartial witness of rank.
      • While enacting any of the above, ensure that you remain calm and composed. It is important to remain professional no matter what the case. As leaders of XGN, we are held to a higher standard than most and are expected to remain professional even under fire regardless of if things get personal.
      • Whenever enacting a disciplinary measure, officers are expected to not only point out where the member did wrong, but what they’ve done good and how they can improve. Even if a member is being asked to leave the squad, division, or clan, they always need to be offered a way back. Sometimes this involves simply stating that they can appeal in the forums. Regardless, this is important.
      • Make sure all details of any disciplinary procedure are properly laid out including the reason for the action, the length of it, what is required of them to get through it, and/or how they can become a full-fledged member again and, again, ensure a witness is there to hear it to ensure that all information was properly passed out.
      • Again, understand that any of the procedures enacted could profoundly impact the member involved and others. For many, XGN is a family or an escape. Even if members offend, we are still part of the same family.
    • Final Remarks
      • Keep in mind, as leader, that though much is left up to judgement when it comes to making a decision upon disciplinary procedures, there is much that must be considered and done to ensure that they are done correctly.
      • Always make sure you attempt to reeducate and retrain before you attempt any disciplinary action further. Keep in mind that all members are people, just like you, and should be treated with as much leniency as is possible to a limit.
      • Lastly, always ensure that members regardless of rank, position, or any other inclination are treated with fairness and equality and allowed a fair and unbiased judgement in a professional manner.

XGN LDP Guide to the AAP Section
By: XGN StilleJager

  • The Achievements and Awards Program section is an area of the forums that pertains to the application and voting on all of the earnable awards on the XGN Forums.
    • While originally a little daunting at first appearances, the AAP Section is a great way to boost morale by getting members the awards they earn through their careers in XGN.
    • There are dozens of awards members can earn from donations to education to even game awards!
    • The purpose of this workshop is to give you a walkthrough on how to apply to these awards, get the proper witnesses, and ultimately get the awards you and your members deserve.
  • Awards
    • The first thing one must consider before applying is what awards there are to apply for. Naturally, there is a list of them to be found on the forums.
    • More awards are added regularly, so they will not be listed here. However, the list is viewable by adhering to the following steps:
      • Go to forums.xgn.gg
      • On the top toolbar, select More
      • In the drop-down menu, select Awards
    • These awards are organized by type and include a wide variety of awards from Divisional Accomplishments to Platform Specific awards.
    • The first thing to consider when looking at awards is what they require. Every award has a certain requirement that must be met. Before applying, consider the requirements that could include any or a mixture of the following:
      • Witnesses of any or specific ranks
      • Web Staff witnesses
      • A certain time in XGN, on the forums, etc.
      • A specific rank be attained
    • Those applying for awards that require witnesses are strongly suggested to contact their witnesses before applying for awards as they only have a 48 hour frame once they have applied for an award to attain the witnesses required for any awards within.
    • If ever you have any doubts about the requirements of an award, do not hesitate to contact a member of the Achievements and Awards Program itself and, very simply, ask whatever questions you may have.
  • Requesting an Award
    • There is a specific format for requesting awards on the XGN forums.
    • To locate the award format and rules, adhere to the following steps:
      • Go to forums.xgn.gg
      • Scroll down to the Departments section and select ‘Achievements & Awards Program Department’
      • Scroll down and select ‘AAP Rules (Read this before making a nomination)’
      • Quickly read over the rules and Copy the request format which is as follows:
        • Name: (The gamertag of the individual you’re nominating)
        • Link to Website Account or @: (Either copy and paste the link to the individual’s XGN Forums account here or @ mention them; it works the same way)
        • Awards: (The names of the awards you’re nominating the individual for)
        • Reasons / Evidence: (The reason these people deserve the award or evidence of such as necessary)
      • Please also keep in mind that when nominating an individual for an award, are two specific things to be noted: Only nominate one (1) individual per topic and also make the name of the topic something along the lines of ‘Awards Nomination (name of individual nominated)’ so that the post is not confused with spam.
  • Of the Month and Of the Year Awards
    • These are special rank-specific awards that are posted in their own special section that include, but are not limited to, Lieutenant of the Month and Senior Director of the Year.
    • Nominations for these go off a specific schedule as well. Of the Month Nominations are open from the 1st of each month to the 15th of each month. For the second half of the month (the 15th to the end of a month), voting is open for those nominated.
      • Of the Year Nominations are similar, but go off an annual basis every January.
    • Nominations are found by adhering to the following steps:
      • Go to forums.xgn.gg
      • Scroll down to the Departments section and select ‘Achievements & Awards Program Department’
      • Scroll down through the subforums of this section and select ‘Nominations and Voting’
      • To nominate, simply reply to the appropriately labelled topic with the correct nominations format as previously mentioned.
    • A poll is opened and those nominated on are put up to be voted on by the entirety of XGN.
    • To earn these awards for your members, you must inspire others to go onto the XGN Forums and vote for them as they will be competing against other squads and/or divisions to earn them.
    • The member nominated for the award that has the most votes at the end of the voting cycle is then declared the winner and receives the award.
    • The format for nominating someone for these awards is the same as any other award, however, so please refer to the above format in the previous section.
  • In Conclusion
    • Awards are a crucial way to build esteem and respect for any up-and-coming officer or member within your Division and/or Squad.
    • These are designed to reward members for their accomplishments within their theatre of work within XGN.
    • All leaders are encouraged to make use of the AAP Section to ensure that their members get proper recognition for their achievements within the community.

The Court System – Appeals

The XGN Court System is an area within the forums that contains

the appeals sections for Forums Bans, Blacklists, DNH’s, Ex-Blacklisted

Clan Membership Instatements, Membership Returns, and Membership Revokes.

If a member, for whatever reason, leaves XGN for longer than

a 24 hour period of time, they are subject to the return

policies outlined within the XGN Handbook.

These take place in the form of appeals, several of

which will be outlined in further detail.

The first topic, pinned near the top, of every appeals

section of the Court Area has a template that must be

filled out 100% correctly and fully in order to have the

appealer’s request considered.

Blacklisting

If a member has been blacklisted, they are still able

able to post in the Court Area section, even if they’ve

been forums banned.

If a member was blacklisted and is a threat level

(on the blacklist) of 1-3, they must wait 3 months

before appealing their blacklisting.

If a member was blacklisted and is a threat level

(on the blacklist) of 4-5, they must wait 6 months

before appealing their blacklisting.

The first post in the topic, as previously stated,

will contain the form to repost (copy and paste) into

another topic to be filled out completely the best

of the individual’s ability. If filled out incorrectly,

the appeal can and will be denied immediately.

When appealing for a Blacklist, the member appealing

should not, directly nor indirectly, contact the court

judges as their appeal will be immediately declined and

they must wait an additional 30 days to reappeal.

While appealing, this does not give Blacklisted members

a right to contact any XGN individuals as, until they are,

or even if they are approved, they are still Blacklisted.

Keep in mind, all judgments are final.

-Membership Revokes

-If a member has been Membership revoked, they are still able

to post in the Court Area section, even if they’ve been

forums banned.

-A member may appeal to have their membership reinstated

after having their Membership Revoked after 30 days.

-The first post in the topic, as previously stated,

will contain the form to repost (copy and paste) into

another topic to be filled out completely the best

of the individual’s ability. If filled out incorrectly,

the appeal can and will be denied immediately.

-When appealing for a Membership Revoke, the member appealing

should not, directly nor indirectly, contact the court

judges as their appeal will be immediately declined and they

must wait an additional 30 days to reappeal.

-Keep in mind, all judgements are final.

-DNH (Do Not Hire) Appeals

-If a member has been Division DNH’d, they, first of all, have 24

hours to find another division to take them. Failing that,

they are no longer in XGN. However, should they choose, they

may appeal and are able to post in the Court Area section

of the forums.

-A member may appeal to have their membership reinstated

after having been DNH’d after 30 days.

-The first post in the topic, as previously stated,

will contain the form to repost (copy and paste) into

another topic to be filled out completely the best

of the individual’s ability. If filled out incorrectly,

the appeal can and will be denied immediately.

-When appealing for a DNH, the member appealing should not, directly

nor indicrectly, contact the court judges as their appeal will be

immediately declined and they must wait an additional 30 days to reappeal.

-Keep in mind, all judgements are final.

-Ex-Blacklisted Clan Membership Instatements

-This section is a little bit different than the rest. In order to

maintain relations with several different clans that were, originally,

blacklisted, we’ve set certain rules for the instatement of members

deciding to join from ex-blacklisted clans such as DHG or KSI.

-While most members must wait a minimum of three months AFTER

leaving their clan and removing it from their gamertag, ex-KSI

members, for example, must wait a minimum of 6 months.

-Once the requirements have been met, the first post in the topic, as

previously stated, will contain the form to repost (copy and paste) into

another topic to be filled out completely the best of the individual’s

ability. If filled out incorrectly, the appeal can and will be denied

immediately.

-When appealing for this, the member appealing should not, directly

nor indirectly, contact the court judges as their appeal will be

immediately declined and they must wait an additional 30 days to reappeal.

-Keep in mind, all judgements are final.

-Membership Returns

-This section is for members that have, for any reason, left XGN on

what is considered ‘Good Standing’ and wish to return.

-These are, naturally, investigated by the Court Judges to make sure the

individual left without infractions on their record so that they may rejoin.

-This section is in place primarily for security purposes against members

attempting to rejoin after disciplinary action has been taken upon them

to remove them from the community by any means.

-The first post in the topic, as previously stated,

will contain the form to repost (copy and paste) into

another topic to be filled out completely the best

of the individual’s ability. If filled out incorrectly,

the appeal can and will be denied immediately.

-When appealing for this, the member appealing should not, directly

nor indirectly, contact the court judges as their appeal will be

immediately declined and they must wait an additional 30 days to reappeal.

-Keep in mind, all judgements are final.

-Forum Bans

-This section is for members that have not been necessarily removed

from the community, but banned from access within the forums for whatever

reason as outlined in the forums rules including, but not limited to,

harassment and spam.

XGN LDP Setting S.M.A.R.T. Goals
By: XGN StilleJager

  • Before starting, please ask all attending to tell you what they believe a goal is and what parts a goal should have.
    • Secondly, have every member give you a goal of their own. This will later be used to turn these goals into a SMART Goal.
  • Goals Within XGN
    • There are many projects, departments, and divisions that require much work within XGN from Clan Operations to the News Team to even the Media Department. Throughout all and throughout any situation even outside of XGN, you’ll find that making goals is a necessity to attaining any sort of measurable success.
    • Why are goals important within the community?
      • Regardless of where you find yourself within XGN, often you’ll be tasked with a certain responsibility, e.g. synchronizing the squad tag and CMS (Clan Management System) of your squad or recruiting a set number of members in a set amount of time.
      • The easiest way to attain any specific result is to set goals. Goals tell you where you want to be in a specific amount of time. The easiest way to remember this is the S.M.A.R.T. method of setting goals.
  • What is a S.M.A.R.T. goal?
    • This acronym is a step-by-step process to creating meaningful and achievable goals and is often used by, not only the educational system, but also in upper levels of corporate management.
    • SMART
      • S – Specific.
      • M – Measurable.
      • A – Achievable.
      • R – Realistic.
      • T – Time-Bound.
  • Specific
    • Goals that you set should be specific. While this seems fairly vague at first, take the time to think about what this means.
    • A goal should have a direct aim at something you would like to accomplish. This is something as simple as getting 10 recruits.
    • This is the beginning of making a goal and should not be overly thought out, however, an example of an incorrectly chosen goal would be something broad, such as ‘increasing activity within the squad’.
      • Looking into this, it is a good goal, but nonetheless, how can you measure this? This is a mission statement more than an actual goal; it is a goal that can be potentially comprised of dozens of individualized, SPECIFIC goals.
      • Example: While you might wish to increase activity within your squad, break this into step. HOW can you increase activity? Perhaps by hosting game nights? Still, this is vague. Hosting 3 game nights a week. This is a specific goal.
  • Measurable
    • SMART Goals are measurable. You can actively take count of your progress toward achieving it.
    • Goals that are measurable should not necessarily be numbers based, but are much easier to manage if they are. Going back to the original goal of three game nights in a week, we can use this example to say that you can actively see how far you’ve gotten to achieving your goal.
      • If you’ve only gotten one game night in and it’s already nearing the end of the week, you can see that you weren’t able to get to your goal.
    • Why should goals be measurable?
      • If you are not able to measure your progress toward your goals, you’ll be unable to gauge whether you reached them or not and unable to see how much progress you were able to make in a set amount of time.
      • Keep in mind that statistics are important. Ultimately, if you make your goals measurable, you’ll more accurately be able to determine how best to devote your resources to accomplishing these.
  • Achievable and Realistic
    • Any goal that is set should be something that you can feasibly reach within any given amount of time.
      • If you’re a Lieutenant, for example, rectifying the CMS and squad tag is not a realistic or achievable goal. You don’t yet have the access!
    • Despite this, many goals can be made achievable even if they originally seem unrealistic. Going back to the previous example of rectifying the CMS and squad tag:
      • What you can, however, do, is help your General with security checks and activity checks with members; make sure they’re still around and their uniforms and bios are in check. This is an important step toward gauging the activity of your squad and being able to maintain accurate and up-to-date numbers.
    • Though you are advised to make goals both achievable and realistic, keep in mind that this is not, in its own way, saying to set the bar low. Keep your goals set to the higher end of this ‘Achievable Spectrum’. Though you want to make your goals require an effort to reach to truly gain satisfaction and progress from them, you don’t want to reach too far to the extent that you make your goal unreachable.
  • Time Bound
    • Every goal that you make should be Time Bound.
    • What does Time Bound mean?
      • Time Bound refers to setting a goal to be done by a certain date. When you choose a goal, there should be a ‘done by’ date.
      • This pushes you to work on your goal sooner, rather than later, knowing that a deadline is pushing you onward.
      • Without deadlines, a goal is simply a statement of an intention. Goals are made to be completed, to be finished, and while time is required, there should be a ‘due date’ so to speak.
    • An example of making your goal Time Bound would be to get 10 recruits in a week. By making your ‘due date’ a week from today, you’ve set a time of completion and made your goal Time Bound.
  • Have each member take their original goals and turn them into S.M.A.R.T. Goals.
  • In conclusion, goals should be subjected to the S.M.A.R.T. technique and, by using this technique, goals can be made more effective both in their completion and as a learning technique.
