The XGN events staff holds many tournaments per year. I highly recommend getting involved in Headhunters or similar events. The challenge of facing others and having the chance to bring home a win for your division and squad is a heart racing experience. One of the most recent tournaments was for the game For Honor, a medieval action game which focuses around melee weapons of the time period. I had a chance to speak with the winner of the event, Connor XGN, and here’s what he had to say.
How long have you been in XGN?
“I was in XGN before for well over 6 months but left due to personal issues I had to deal with. This time round I’ve been here for around 2 months.”
What is your personal uniform?
Was this the first tournament you entered in XGN?
What is the greatest challenge you faced in the tournament?
“Probably the first match was the hardest because it was the character I’m the worst at fighting against.”
What motivated you to join the tournament?
“A few of my friends had entered too, because we all thought it’d be a great idea to see who really was the best out of us all.”
Were you surprised by your victory?
“Very, I expected to be smashed by the first player.”
How long did you practice/ how long have you been playing For Honor?
“I played the game for a few months or so when it first came out, but I’ve only started playing properly since maybe September/October.”
Any shout outs to those who helped you along the way?
“XGN Dream XS for helping me realize that no matter how much he talks about being better than me, I still came back from a 4-0 game to win 5-4.”
Friendship, loyalty, and tough challenges, isn’t that what XGN is all about? We’re here to challenge each other and grow closer by our love of gaming. Congratulations on winning bragging rights against all your friends and other competitors. I’m sure your brothers and sisters are thrilled that you brought home a victory for DoD. To those reading this who haven’t signed up for a XGN tournament keep an eye open for when the events team will host one on your favorite game. Then maybe when you win I’ll be writing an article about you next.
