If you’re a fan of gore, non-stop combat, and thrilling action games look no further. Rage 2 plans to deliver these and more with the sequel to Bethesda’s Rage released in 2010. This sequel takes place 30 years after the first title with many new faces and some of the old cast. Some of you may have heard about this release when it was leaked by Walmart, which Bethesda poked fun at during E3.
The first Rage game was pretty good in my opinion. As an open world first person shooter you had access to many different weapons, skills, and tools to make you even more overpowered. Bethesda plans to go above and beyond that in this installment by adding even more. One example of which is when you activate “overdrive”, which basically turns you into an unstoppable killing machine and gives you better rewards per kill, you get different perks depending on your class and what weapons you have equipped. I love this idea, players get the chance to try out many finishing moves to keep it interesting. Yes the “wingstick” from the first game will be making a return as well. The wingstick is a primary form of combat which is basically a deadly boomerang.
Just like most other Bethesda games There will be an advanced skill tree depending on your class. Weapons will also be able to be upgraded as well and some of them will have their own unique perks on top of that. If there’s one thing rage delivers on it’s that it makes you feel powerful. Nothing can stand in your way right from the start. The quest to become more and more overpowered continues on as you play.
In this immense post apocalyptic world you can go anywhere at anytime and drive any vehicle you see. Bethesda also stated that there will be no loading screens while in the open world. This is something that truly remarkable and gives players a more immersive experience. While we are on the topic of the world, you should know that it has changed since the original. Being 30 years after the first, the world has began to recover from the apocalypse. Plantation and wildlife are returning and the planet is becoming for habitable. No doubt that in this world you will be facing many different factions of enemies. All of which have their own fighting style, weapons, and abilities.
So when can you start fighting hordes of enemies you ask? Release date is set for Spring 2019. It will be available for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. If you pre-order this game you get access to special missions and gear for completing them. Pre-order is available now at your local or internet retailers.
