Our beloved Mr XGN created our great community five years ago after leaving KSI. I asked him how it feels to be the main face of all of it. He enjoys it, he says, he loves getting the unique opportunity to meet a lot of different people from all over. He also told me that it can make him get pretty awkward when praised for creating XGN because to him, it’s all the members that’s constructed this gaming environment, we all play a part and he’s just doing his.
You guys should know that Mr XGN LOVES Halo. I asked him his favorite, and he answered Halo 2 because that was the first game that gaming communities started on. He also loves Halo 5. He finished it on Legendary difficulty with a few friends and gives it a 4/5. He also can’t wait until Halo 6, which I didn’t even know was a thing, but it apparently is.
So, I bet some of you want to know what he does. Well, he’s the President of the Board of Directors. He works a lot with BoD members and Senior Leaders. A lot of the things that are discussed in div staff and squad meetings come directly from him and go down the Chain of Command. In the earlier years of XGN, it was very time consuming, he says, but now we have a lot of staff so a lot of his duties include guiding, setting goals, adding/enhancing policies, managing media departments, dealing with sponsors/investors and the competitive teams in XGN.
Okay, so how many of you have seen one of Mr XGN’s videos where he pops into game lobbies and they react? Well, I can’t find one, but I know I’ve seen one before, but if you want to see a video of him playing in a game night with some members click here! Anyway, I asked him about it and if he liked it and I’m gonna direct quote him when he said “It’s honestly amusing and sometimes shocking. I’m used to getting hate, so I suppose, it’s enlightening to see the positive. Although, again, I must say when people freak out when I’m present I still feel awkward and don’t know what to say to this day. I’m not sure I’ll ever get use to the attention, to be honest.”
Other than Halo 5, I asked him what new games he’s played the most this year. His response, which made me laugh, was that FallOut 4 took over the lives of a large majority of XGN members, including himself.
With him, specifically, I wanted him to settle the debate of Xbox One vs PS4. He said Xbox One, even though, unfortunately PS4 has the upper hand in sales and features. (Sad face)
And finally, to all of you lower-ranked members, he says that you guys are easily the backbone of the community. He also wanted to thank you for all of your support in him and XGN as a whole.
