Infinity Ward; the developers of one of the most iconic video game series out to date has officially announced the release of their newest installment in their Call of Duty series, Infinite Warfare. To be exact it’s been teased that Call of Duty is going back to its roots with broad-scale war and cinematic military storytelling, but in a new and ambitious setting. Infinite Warfare takes the franchise to a whole new world with a character-driven campaign, that will go where we haven’t been before.
With an all-new universe, story, and a cast of characters, Infinite Warfare will bring players to a new frontier in a new war. After Earth’s forces unite to create the United Nations Space Alliance they move to colonize the solar system, and to seek out precious resources. But a relentless enemy faction emerges from those living on the frontier, and they call themselves the Settlement Defense Front. Now, the SDF has struck back at the UNSA and sparked a full-scale war spanning across our solar system. Players will assume the role of Captain Reyes, a Tier 1 Special Operations pilot who assumes the command of the Retribution, a massive UNSA warship, after a surprise attack from the SDF leaves Earth’s fleet crippled and outgunned. Thrust into leadership and facing impossible odds, Reyes and his crew must fight to repel a relentless enemy.
Looking into this game, has given some insight on what to expect. An imaginative and unique look into the CoD universe as well as Infinity Ward trying their hands at a more otherworldly game. Yes Advance Warfare had their suits, and Black Ops 3 did as well, but with this Call of Duty we could see something new. Space battles, low gravity atmospheres with players just decimating each other, this is something fans have wanted for years. As for the Modern Warfare remastered, we get to see the stark contrast between the old style of nostalgic playing that gave us the reason to bust out the old console, right with the new, and advanced release of Infinite Warfare. These are things to look out for, having a hybrid squad for the remastered Modern Warfare and Infinite Warfare.
With the release of the remastered Modern Warfare, we can expect and know that all the maps are being released with it, so you don’t have to pay $19.99 in DLC. Having one of their most iconic games remastered was a great idea, I know many would have preferred more like a MW2 remaster or a Black Ops 2, but as video games move forward, they usually tend to bring back the old.
As for XGN, just like any Call of Duty, this will help us grow, as more players fall in love with the franchise at every release, (Except Ghosts) we can expect squads popping up left and right featuring Infinite Warfare as well as Modern Warfare Remastered, I for one am hoping to see this happen.
